Just thought I would ask if there is any way to park for free at WDW? I'm staying off-site and have read some posts on another board that said that they found ways to do it. Anyone done this...??

They were saying that if you parked at DD you could then take the bus etc. ...or park at the Contemporary and take the Monorail etc....

:jester: Just wondering...

Most of the resorts are now at least asking why you're there if you don't have a parking ticket for that resort, and many times they're giving people 3 hour parking permits if they do have ressies for a restaurant. Therefore, parking at any other resort to get to the parks is not an option. There were too many people doing that, and the people who were staying at the resorts couldn't park.

I guess it is technically okay to park at DD and catch a bus. No one will stop you, and you won't be taking parking spots away from hotel guests.

Actually, parking at Downtown Disney is only for those having business at DD. If you are eating, shopping, or going to a show or club there then it's fine. It is not okay to park there and catch a bus to the parks for the day. You may not be stopped if you try it, but for the small parking fee, I don't think it's worth the hassle of parking there, then trying to catch a bus to the park. The Downtown Disney busses always seem to take forever.

Yes, the monorail resorts are now checking PS numbers when you go through the gates and giving out 3 hour parking passes for those that have PS's there. After your meal, if you plan on going to the MK, you will need to move your car to the TTC lot.

Parking is one of the smaller expenses at Disney. It's just 6.00 per day I believe if you are staying offsite. It's a big hassle trying to park at DD and catch a bus to the parks.

If you're at WDW long enough, or if you're planning another trip within a year, an annual pass might work for you. An annual pass includes parking, no matter where you stay.

Keep in mind the parking fee is per day, if you go to a different park (or return to the same park) later in the day all you have to do is show your voucher/ticket.

PLEASE don't park at a resort and then go to a park for the day....

I stayed at the Contemporary and couldn't find a spot at least 2 times because everyone was parking there and walking to MK for MVMCP.

It was very frustrating with 2 little DD's aleep!

That's what valet parking is for!

If you are an AP holder, I believe you get to park free at any of the parks.

I shouldn't have to valet park if I don't want to. It costs money with tipping and when it's late and your kids are alseep, it's a pain.

Also, the self-parking for the North wing is close to our room, why should we go valet park?

I like to know where my car is parked and be able to get at it at any time and not have to wait for someone to get it for us.

That is NOT the answer to this problem. The answer is people NOT parking there if they are planning to head to MK for the day or for MVMCP for the night.

It's just common decency.
