Parking for Citywalk?

Hi

This is probably a stupid question, but is a $20 parking fee still required to park at Universal if you are just stopping there in the evening to eat at a restaurant at Citywalk?

I'm assuming that you still have to pay, but it seems a little excessive, especially if you are specifically stopping there to spend money...

Thanks.

If you have the AP that covers garage parking, then no charge

Floridian residents have parking waived
Exception is a $5 fee during Hhn nights

All others will have the $20
Parking fee

Floridian residents have parking waived

Is this new? Is this after a certain time?

It's not been the case for my Floridian cousin...

OP, it's all the same big lot. Out at Disney they hide the parking charges somewhere for everyone to subsidize those needing to park. At Universal the people with the cars pay. So yes, if you are parking there, you do pay.

Thanks very much for the replies.

According to Frommer's Orlando 2016 - parking for Citywalk is $5 after 6pm. Is that not the case?

the above link damo shared is from the UO website

$5 parking fee for Flo residents during Hhn nights if parking between that two hour time period they list

So Frommers states all parking after 6 is $5?

Better check with guest service by email to get verification of what Frommers lists

Maybe one of the sites has an error or maybe there was a change of the parking policy after the book went to print

No one likes surprises when it comes to money so if you can get UO 's official policy before you go, might be less an aggravation for later

Its $5 after 6pm for general public and free for Florida residents

This is what Frommer's says as well, but the Universal website doesn't say anything like that. I don't see anything on their website about any time-related discounts for non-Florida residents. So I guess I'm still not sure. I tried to call last night, but the recording said it would be a 45 minutes wait for the next customer representative - I don't need to know THAT badly. :(

Again, thanks for all the help, everyone.

I also heard they have a rebate on parking fee with the purchase of movie tickets, usually they just pop up a card board sing right in the parking booths stating the reduce price for after hours, obviously this is not the case for Halloween horror nights or any other special event

I emailed Universal to confirm, but haven't anything back yet.

Thanks for the help!

Just FYI - I did talk to a Universal Customer Service Rep, who confirmed that danielocha30 is right - after 6pm, Universal parking is free for FL residents, and $5 for non-residents. Except during things like Halloween Horror Nights.
