Parking fee?

Do they automatically add this fee on? How do they know you have a car (or don't)? I'm flying in and just don't want to get charged

When you drive into the hotel, you’ll stop at the gate and the person asks what you’re doing there. You say that you’re checking in. The person checks your name and tells you to park. They then know you have a car.

Sadly no. Keep an eye on your room charges. They were charging me for parking on my last trip when I didn't have a car onsite and I didn't notice until our last night. Then even after I went to the front desk and had them remove it, they still charged me parking for the last night and I had to contact billing to get it refunded. :sad2: I never entered any resort on anything but DME or a resort bus.

It's always good to check your bill for errors but thankfully it's not the norm to just ADD parking to everyone's bill. This was an error, likely they put someones parking on your bill and someone who did drive didn't get charged. While that does not make it better it is not the same as they are just adding parking to all bills.

I didn't mean they added it to all rooms, but based on my own experience I would definitely worry about them adding it to my bill erroneously and not just trust that they know who has a car and who doesn't.
Our one night stay at CSR to start the trip did not charge us for parking. The next stay at Pop did.
 
Yes, check your bill regardless and if youre on the DP, check your credits daily too. I was once charged 3x (DP credits for 3 people = 18 credits!!) for Mickeys backyard BBQ. Luckily it was just a quick stop at guest services and the credits were returned to my band. Even luckier it was like the 2nd or 3rd day of my trip and I still had plenty of credits left to cover the meal I was at when I realized something didnt look right. I would have been way embarrassed if I went to charge the meal and had no credits left.

This is unacceptable, if you have to waste your time at the front desk fixing Disney’s mistakes you should be well compensated for your time.
