Parking Fee Question

We're going on a DCL cruise later this month, followed by four days at the parks.

We'll have a rental car to get us from the port to the parks, and we'd like to get started at the parks as soon as possible after the cruise. We're staying on-property, but since check-in isn't until 4:00 or so, I thought about driving straight to one of the parks from the port. Is there some way to avoid having to pay the parking fee that first day other than going to the hotel first?

Yes, you can show them your reservation confirmation.
Just an FYI, while check in is not until after 4 pm, you can still "check in" at the resort and if your room is not ready (sometimes they are ready early) they will hold your luggage and have it in your room when you get back from the parks

While your room may not be ready, you can still check in and start enjoying the privelages of staying on site. You would be able to use the transportation system as one option. Also at the time you sign in they will give you a piece of paper for your dashboard making note of the dates you are staying on property. You just point at it and they will wave you int.

I don't know if they will allow you to park for free if you only show them a reservation number. You should check into your resort first and then go over to the park.

We have parked at MK by showing our reservation.

But, definitely check in first!!! They will give you a phone number to call to see when your room is ready and where it is. They will give you your resorts keys, so you can start spending $$$ right away. They will activate them when the room is ready, so you don't have to go back to the front desk

There is a dilemma if you are staying at the MK resorts. You have to go through the MK toll plaza.

For a long time I have suggested telling the toll taker you are going to a resort to check in, and then just drive on and bear right at the big fork beyond. (You may or may not have a written reservation)

Good Grief, I only costs $6 or $7 dollars to park. Based on the fact that you are doing a cruise, I would say that this amounts to loose change. I know it might be free if you stay at the resort, but, is all the extra effort worth a few bucks.

Why should Max pay for parking if it is included for WDW Resort guests? The only extra effort he has to go through is to show the parking attendent his reservation confirmation instead of peeling off six dollars.

Whether one checks into the hotel prior to visiting the parks is his/her own business. It may not be a matter of six dollars, but whether one feels comfortable leaving their luggage and valuables in a parked car. I wouldn't.

How rude
What difference does it make if it is lose change or if they had to save for yrs to go on the cruise. They are entitled to free parking at the parks as a resort guest.

I am sorry if people think what I said was "rude". That wasn't my intention. It is just that it strikes me funny that people who have spent thousands of dollars feel that they get cheated if they have to spend $6 to park. Obviously, they don't have to spend that money but it just seems that to get all twisted around and inconvenienced just to save it kind of takes the fun out of the vacation. That is just my humble opinion. I am not judging others. I am only expressing how I would feel about it. To each his own.
