Alot of hotels charge for parking. Some have it built in to the nightly
rate, which if you did not have a car that would suck. Only guests with
cars pay at on-site hotels. Seems fair.
Their parking areas are very small. They don't have the space like Disney does. Their rates are lower than Disney Deluxes even if you put in the parking price.

I have never looked at it that way, that is a good way to look at it. I just always felt like I was paying more (over my room rate). However, if you just calculate in and compare to a Disney Deluxe, you are still coming out ahead...and get free FOL to boot
You do have to pay for parking at the parks as well. There are walkways and boats that take you to the park from the hotel though. I would think that would be easier than parking at the parks (and not to mention cheaper).
Yes ,its a 7 min walk to Citywalk from RPR and prob an extra 2 mins to IOA, probably take you as long walking to your car.
Idea of staying onsite is you do not need to drive to the parks,
