We'll be renting a car for the first time on our next trip and after hearing about the spotty bus schedule at SSR, we'll probably end up driving to some parks on our own. Since it'll be a first for us, here's a question...

First, do they have parking at TTC? If so, would it be the easiest route to get to MK or Epcot for us if we are staying at SSR? Or is it just as easy to park at the parks?

I hope these are not "duh" questions....we have just never paid attention before!

TTC parking lot = Magic Kingdom parking lot

If you have a rental car at a resort with convenient parking (such as SSR and OKW), it's usually faster to drive than to take a bus to Animal Kingdom, Disney-MGM, and Epcot.

However, we prefer to take the bus to MK. The MK bus stops are near the park entrance.

If you drive to the MK, the MK parking lot is on the other side of the Seven Seas Lagoon. After you park, you have to walk or take a tram across the huge MK parking lot to the TTC. From the TTC, you have to take a monorail or boat the the MK.

Rumors of spotty bus service have been greatly exaggerated :)
However, if you do choose to drive, you should drive to the parking lot of the park you're visiting. The exception is Magic Kingdom - the ONLY parking for that park is AT the Ticket & Transportation Center. You can't park any closer; then you need to use the monorail or ferry (and maybe the parking lot tram) to travel between your car and the park. The bus from your resort, on the other hand, drops you just a couple of hundred feet from the Magic Kingdom entrance.

From SSR, I would turn left onto DVC Drive. Go straight at the light at Bonnet Creek Parkway (just past the OKW entrance). That will take you onto Epcot Drive, keep going straight until it merges with World Drive. The MK parking gate will be straight ahead.

thank you, thank you and thank you!!! We've only taken the buses, so this is all new!
