We'll be staying at PBH for the first time in July and was just wondering if the Universal hotels charge a parking fee. I can't find anything about it on their website, but may not be looking in the right place...

Thanks!

If I remember right, it's $5.00 or $6.00 a day. I can't believe they do this.

They all charge $6.00/day for self-park and $12.00/day for valet. If you use valet the first day they will charge you that for the rest of the trip. So either don't use it - or tell them if you start parking it yourself on the rest of the trip.

I personally HATE having to pay for parking when you're already paying for a room - but it's pretty much becoming an industry standard in nice hotels. I've found the nicer the hotel - the more "free" things they charge you for. I've never been as nickle and dimed to death as I was at the Ritz in Atlanta - where they charged for LOCAL telephone calls!

When we stayed at HRH in April, there was no charge for self parking. I don't know if this is a change or just a fluke, but there was no charge on our bill nor did we pay the lot attendant.

when we stayed at HRH, it was $5.00 day....

apparently, all the locals & people not staying a hotel were using the hotel parking lots for easier access to the parks.

This is why they instituted a charge.. Personally, I don't mind paying the fee if it means I can get a parking space close to the hotel.

When I stayed at the Poly in DIsney, took 20 minutes to find a parking spot..Know much of the cars that were their were day trippers, because when we came back late at night....had our choice of spots

We returned a week ago from a three night stay at the HRH. The check in lady told me that I would be charged $6.00 a day for parking. I told her that I had an annual pass and that it included parking. She waived the parking charge. By the way, I loved the hotel.

It really wouldn't be a big deal just to check for resort identification when you park They charge your room bill for parking so they know you're a hotel guest.

They started charging for parking when vandalism caused them to have to increase security. I also suspect the average room rates are lower than they expected (Entertainment rates, Fan Club rates, hotwire bookings etc.) and that the parking fee helps the bottom line.

For a one night stay would we be charged parking for one day or two days (check-in and check-out day)?

Is there a different charge for Handicapped parking? My dad is in a wheelchair and so the self parking would be difficult ( I guess we could drop him off......hummm anyway) Didn't know if they had handicapped spots and what the rate was. At the Swan last year they gave him free valet parking with his handicapped sticker.
