Parking at resorts with AP?

Hi all -

If we're staying at SOG and buy APs, can we drive down to the Poly and park so that we can take the monorail to the MK? I only want to do this once or twice, when we plan on in being the parks late for MNSSHP and Spectro and want to be able to get back to SOG with tired (and heavy) DDs 3 and 5. Other times we plan on taking the SOG shuttle to the TTC. The other concern is my Mom, elderly and not able to walk marathon distances. We are also DVC members, if that makes any difference. Any ideas if this is ok? Thanks!:)

that's what a lot of the controversy is about. They will probably give you a 3 hour pass, and from what was posted yesterday(?) could possibly tow you away after that. The AP does not give you the privelage of parking anywhere.

Your AP only gets you free parking at the parks. Since you are staying at the SOG, you can already park free at the parks. Free parking at the parks is a perk of staying on-site. Your DVC membership entitles you to free valet parking at BWV and VWL and if you are staying at a WDW DVC resort, you have the same parking priviledges as any other on-site guest - i.e., free parking at the parks.

The only guests entitled to park at the Poly are those that are staying there. As Pluto4President said, if you are going to the Poly to eat or look around, you will get the infamous 3 hour pass. It's not fair to the Poly guests to have to park a long way from their rooms so that people going to the MK can avoid the TTC. I'm quite sure Disney will be monitoring all of the MK resort lots the nights of MNSSHP as that is a time many people will try to park there instead of the TTC.

One option for your late nights might be to valet park at the Poly. It costs $6 plus tip, but as far as I know, there are no restrictions on using the valet service. (I'd be absolutely shocked to hear of Disney towing cars that had been valet parked). To be sure this is OK, though, I'd call the Poly ahead of time and see what they say.

Enjoy your trip!

Disney has place Signs at each Disney Resort entrance that's Near a Theme Parks that basically says: "We Regret that we cannot provide parking for the (whichever park MK,EC,AK)".

Now I believe that you can still park at a Resort to eat Lunch or Dinner but it requires you to make a Reservation at a Restaurant and provide a Credit Card Number as well. (If you didn’t show up they would charge you some sort of a Fee).

I have no problem paying the valet fee and tip as long as its ok to park at the Poly for the night. All I want is assurance that once we get to a monorail, it will only take us a few minutes to get back to the hotel. All other times we plan to hike down the hill to grab the monorail or take the SOG bus. Thanks again everyone!:)
