We have a PS for 1900 park fair, we will be coming from SW that day and would like to park at the GF. We are staying at ASMo
#1 Can we park there?
#2 If so, can we just park in a parking lot and walk, instead of them parking the car for us?
#3 How long can you park there?
#4 If the PS is a long wait, can we hop the monorail while we wait?

I have seen the 3 hour limit mentioned before - here is our issue. We are going to a PS at the Contemporary at 5:45. Fireworks and Spectro are at MK at 8-9 so we won't have time to move the car. I was thinking of taking the monorail to MK and then going back to ge tthe car, but now I am scared to death that they will tow the rental. How strict is the 3 hours? Like is it timed to the minute, or do I have some float?

Believe me..at the GF you will want to valet...the self parking is far away from the building...and I mean far...don't know what they were thinking with that one.

I think you have some float. We have been late once and our car was still there. I was nervous - but I'm a worrier!

I've never seen a car being towed from a resort lot. If you're staying at another Disney resort (and have the parking pass in your window) they don't even give you a three hour ticket (I seem to remember the 3-hour ticket being blue).

Last summer my sister and her family stayed at AKL and we stayed at CBR. We spent more than 3 hours each day at AKL over the 10 days we were there as did my sister's family at CBR, we were flagged through the AKL gates as soon as they saw the CBR parking permit in our windshield and the same happened when my sis came to CBR. We also visited Boardwalk with no problems and we were there for about 4 hours. I think if you have your parking permit prominently displayed you should have no problems.

Sorry, not the case. In February we stayed at the BWV and drove to the Polynesian for breakfast at the Kona, we were given a three hour parking premit. In March we had dinner at the Contemporary and again with an AKL permit in our windshield were given a three hour permit. We were also given a three hour permit last August for the CR when we ate at the CG. Perhaps not all of the resorts are doing this, but the CR and Poly most definitely are. Not sure the GF has to--as another poster pointed out, parking in self parking there is like parking on Mars.

To the OP, park at the TTC and take the monorail to the CR, then take the monorail to the TTC after leaving the park.

I was also going to suggest parking at the TTC, riding the resort monorail over to the GF and then heading to the MK. You might be able to park at the GF for the period of time you need, but you never know. The self parking is quite a long distance from the resort so you definitely want to valet park instead of self park. You can always ask the security officer at the gate for his suggestion.

Last week we stayed at Riverside. We drove to a different resort four times and four times were not questioned at all. I had my Riverside Parking permit on the dashboard and security just waved us through. This included The Poly, CR, GF, and Wilderness lodge. I wouldn't worry about the three hour rule too much. Especially if your staying on site and have your permit out.

No matter what experiences any of us have had, it is all going to depend on the guard at the gate of the resort you are going to...like I said, when my sister and I went, we came and went to each other's resorts as we pleased, used the pools at both and everything and was never given a blue permit or anything, we were waved through every time for 10 days. This was last August/September.

I totaly agree with ducklite, you would be better off parking at the TTC. You could ride the MR over to GF have dinner, ride it back to MK for fireworks and then ride it once more back to TTC. No hassells, no worries.

Have a great trip.

Scott

I've been issued the 3 hour parking permit many, many times at different resorts. Each time I stayed between 5-7 hours. I wouldn't worry too much.
