Parking at Port Canaveral

I am sure this is somewhere in this forum but I can not find it. Last year we headed to the port and were able to get in the parking lot around 10 am and we were in the port and on line by 10:05. Is it tru that the port does not open until 11am? Can anyone give me any suggestions about parking. We like to get there early and get onboard. Thanks

The port does not open until 11:00 now. Recent reports are saying that if you get to the port before 10:45 you will be turned away and not allowed to even park yet.

Also--you can't assume you'll get onboard early if you arrive at the port early. You choose a Port Arrival Time when you do your on-line check-in...and that time will determine which boarding group you'll have. It is not first-come, first-served.

This thread probably needs to go on the general DCL area, and not the trip reports...if moderators move it, you'll probably get more responses.
