Somewhere in the process of doing all the paperwork for the cruise they will ask you if you are parking at the port. I don't think it's an actual "reservation".
I always prefer to park at the port instead of taking a shuttle because once you get off the ship, you load up your stuff and drive right past all the people waiting for the shuttles. Just my opinion.
No reservations needed, but you do need to pay (You probably already know that). And I think the Parking Garage is planned to be ready for the Disney Dream in January, as they will need to be more space for cars.
FYI I was in an all fire hurry to check in and get to the upgrade desk so dh dropped me off at the luggage drop off and I took what I needed to get us checked in plus 2 kids FORGETTING that dh was stuck with a TON of stuff himself. It took him FOREVER to get inside the port don't forget to have a plan!!
