Hi-

I am renting a car during our stay at Disney and wanted to ask about parking at MK. I am thinking of parking at Contemporary and then using the Monorail to MK. Is there a fee if I am staying at the Disney Boardwalk villas and am a DVC member? I think otherwise you park in a lot near TTC and then take a boat/bus to MK. Monorail sounds easier.

Please advise!

Disney does not allows guests to park at a resort to gain access to the parks. There is a security guard at each resort to only allow in those who are staying at that resort or who have a PS for a restaurant there.

By parking at the TTC you will be able to take the monorail to the MK. Your choices to get to MK from there are monorail or boat, not bus.

Resorts that are accessible by monorail give a 3 hour parking pass to anyone who is not a guest at that particular resort. Too many folks were filling up the resort lots and going to the MK. Please use the main MK/TTC lot.

I'm at WDW now and we parked at the TTC twice this week, it isn't that bad. Park, catch a tram to the TTC and then take the monorail. Or just take the bus from your resort, it will drop you right in front of MK. We took the bus from OKW last night for Spectro, I noticed when we passed the Contemporary there is a sign "we cannot provide parking for Magic Kingdom".

If you're an on-site guest, I would recommend taking the shuttle bus from your hotel. We drove to WDW last October, and made the big mistake of parking at MK! Taking the tram to the boats/monorail, then waiting for the boat, then riding over in the boat... the suspense nearly killed me! I think it would have taken us half the time to have just jumped on the bus at AKL.

Of course, if you're staying off-site, your options are slightly limited. I'd drive/park at Epcot/DS/AK, but I'd really look into a hotel shuttle to MK, especially if they drop you off right at the MK bus stops. Leaving the park to get back to our car, with two exhausted kids, having to wait in a very, very long line to get on the monorail, then having to stand most of the way, was just not the way we should have started our trip. :(

Thank you so much for the information. Gosh these Boards are so great. I guess I'll take the bus from Boardwalk and not bother with the car.

I assume (and from reading some of the guides) it seems the other parks are not as difficult with parking.

The parking lots for the other three WDW parks are adjacent to the park entrances. You park, ride a tram, and you're there. On the whole, though... if you're staying on-site, I would just take the busses to all four parks. IMO it's much less stressful than driving between an on-site hotel and the parks, and the WDW Busses drop off/pick up right next to the entrance of each park.
