Parking at Midway Airport

Because we got a super good deal on airfare and DW reservations, we are taking a trip to DW in January. We are flying out of Midway Airport in Chicago. I have never been to Midway before.

Can anyone make any recommendations on where to park? Seems like there are some discount lots that have shuttle to the airport, but that seems a little risky.

We fly out of Midway all the time cuz we love Southwest. We always buy a parking voucher to park at the Midway Park Saver lot. It's located on 59th Street just across from Midway Airport. Once you're in the lot, simply cross the street to acces the airport skyway. The moving skywalk will take you to the terminal ticket counters in less than 5 minutes. They do also provide a complimentary in-lot shuttle bus to carry you to the front of the lot. Go to airportdiscountparking.com. We're using it 12-10 to 12-17 and paid, taxes included, $62. Much cheaper than having to take a limo or cab, and then you have your own car to get home.

I went on the Midway site, and it looks like the parking at their covered structure is really expensive. We are going in January, so I guess we'll be taking a little risk parking outside.

We've parked outside many times. It actually seems much safer and more convenient than the budget lots at O'Hare. Or do you mean risky as in your car will be covered in snow? Yeah probably, but at least you were in FL when it snowed! Depending on how far away you live and how long you'll be gone maybe hiring a town car would be a viable option. For us, it comes out a little more to get a limo/town car but the convenience of door to door pick-up makes it worth it.

We used Park, Ride, Fly out of Midway last April. It was really easy and not expensive at all. For 8 days it was $68 outside. You get to keep your keys and you can reserve online and pay by credit card.
