Forgive my ignorance here, but for AP holders, what is the benefit to parking at Hotel NY over the main car park if you are arriving at 8 for EMH and can get parking at the front of the main car park? Is the walk shorter?

Maybe it's not so much an advantage if you are arriving for EMH ~ it's probably more so if you are arriving later in the day/evening.

However, I can't speak from experience so I'll bump this for you so others can.....:goodvibes

Thankyou! In February we arrived about 8.20 each day and parked in row A or B of the main car park, but when we go back in May it will be busier I guess and we are staying a little bit further away.

i Wonder this as well, we have never tried the main car park before as we have always stayed on site and either walked or used the buses.
This time we will be staying at the DCR and were going to park at HNY or SL and enjoy the walk round the lake and through the village early morning. Although it would be helpful to know if the main car park is nearer than the HNY?? :confused3

Having parked in both, I would say there isn't much difference between the two unless you can get parked in the front rows of the main car park.

Thanks for that.:goodvibes I guess if we're getting in early for EMH then we'll stick to the main car park.....

Perhaps the difference may come if you are leaving at Park closing time - then everybody will be exiting the main car park at the same time. Not so HNY as people are staying. :confused3

That's part of the reason why we park in HNY.
The others are that it is a pleasant walk through the hotel and village, you can stop at the character photo spot in the hotel, your car is a lot easier found and isn't baked hot in the summer since the HNY is shaded by trees :)

Now they all sound good reasons! That's just the kind of thing it's good to know. Is it about the same walk as the front of the main car park?

Even if it's the same distance, I bet it will take you longer as you'll be tempted into those shops in the Village ;)

I know this may seem like a daft question but how do you park at HNY if you've got an AP? Do you just turn up at the car park and show your pass? Planning on using the HNY on our next trip and as DH brought us Aps on the last trip.

If you have a Dream AP this allows you to park in any of the Hotel carparks; except the Disneyland Hotel.
You'll be stopped by the security guard at the barrier entry to the hotel. Show your AP to security who will check it and record your registration number of your car.
We went through this procedure even if we were in and out of the carpark in the same day :)
