Parking at GF for ADR

We are staying at AKV, and on our day of arrival, we will be eating at 1900 Park Fare. Since we will be coming from AKV, I would like to drive. Is it possible to park at GF just for our ADR time?

Yes, but I must advise you the free parking lot is a long walk to the GF,. and you may also run into a full lot. I would be prepared to pay $12.00 for valet parking. Last yr. we ran into a full lot and had to valet park.

Agree about valet. The thing is this though, if you are parked valet at AKL/AKV for your stay there is no charge for valet at GF, it is unlimited valet for each day at all resorts.

Not only is the lot small and across the street but many times there is only a very small part of the lot before you get to the gate that you need a room key to enter (there is no guard just a spot for the room key so unless it is a really empty time make a plan for not being able to park.

When my family and I have driven to the Grand Floridian to visit we always parked in their self parking lot and pressed a button on the thing you mentioned for the gate to open, since our Key To The World cards would not work in there.

GF has the worst self-parking lot on property. It's possible it will be full. At any rate it is located across the street from the resort, and it is quite small since half of it is cast parking.

You said it!! We stayed there for one night a few years ago and we will never again. We are big self-parkers and it is out of the question at GF.

Much rather stay at the Poly where self parking is a breeze.

I agree! The self-parking at GF is horrible. I have dropped off my DD and DM and then parked and walked it myself. But if I have time, and aren't running late, I prefer to park at the TTC and ride the monorail over.

Depending on what time you are visiting, you may even get to park close at the TTC. I have parked fairly close when we have done this in the evening.

Besides, riding the monorail is fun!

Of the 3 monorail resorts, GF has the worst self parking, Poly guards can be the most careful about letting you park there, and the guards and parking lot at Contempo are wonderful!

I have never been told I can't park at any of the resorts. I've never parked there and gone to MK though and I know that's a problem, especially at Poly. Whenever we go there to eat all I've had to do is tell them I am eating there. Either in one of the TS (sometimes the guard at Poly will check a list) or at their food courts. Sometimes the guard at Poly will ask you to drive away slowly so they can write down your lic. plate. I think they give you 2 hours parking since their lot is fairly small.

Plan to valet park. It really does stink parking there. I had the parking gate on self-parking malfunction and hit the top of my car as I was driving under. And I don't creep along either. I think it is the worst parking in Disney.

If we stay there again in the future or drive to eat there we will always budget for valet.
