We just bought a new 2019 truck today :flower: and will be picking up a large cargo trailer in GA - after the Disney part of our January, 2020 trip!

DH description is: It is a Ford Super Duty 450 4X4 Crew Cab Platinum with a 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel with Dually Wheels...My description...Seriously, this thing is HUGE!

My question is what DVC Resort do you think has the best parking for this type of truck?

I know most if not all of OKW you can park near your door..but sometimes the parking spaces are better suited for the typical smaller cars or crossovers or normal sized trucks...so OKW may not make good sense.

But maybe Boulder Ridge would make more sense as you are parking in a large parking lot and can park farther away from the small cars and crossovers.

What is the parking like at the other DVC Resorts?

Thoughts?

Jambo House would be similar to BRV, BCV might have spaces at the back of the lot. BWV will be hard. SSR might work out, similar to OKW, but you may have to park at the back or ends of the lot. OKW is going to be hard since the spaces are rather limited and standard widths. Kidani Village would require you to park outside and not under the building. BLT is going to be tough since resort guests park up closer and the rest of the spaces are taken up by illegal MK parkers.

Thanks...I forgot about the big parking lot at Jambo! And I heard that BLT seems to be a popular place for people heading into the parks but it could just be because Contemporary is such a big convention hotel too...I have never stayed there and nor have we been to WDW since 2012...so it seems like everything I once knew has changed

Nice truck, btw!! I would avoid BCV and BWV. The Boardwalk parking fills up fast and is pretty tight. I think OKW and SSR might work best as you are able to park in front of your room. We have never had a problem when staying at VWL, plenty of parking.

OKW might even be hard if your truck has the extra wide wheels. SSR might have a few more outer spaces at each building where you could park over two spaces.

SSR near Grandstand has a large lot..I think I’ve seen a few smaller RV’s there.
At Poly, the Pago Pago lot to the right is large, and Google Maps happens to show a bus-sized RV (or 2) taking 2 spots.
Actually google maps also shows an RV and a SUV with a small trailer in the SSR Grandstand lot, too.

The OP needs to go to Texas to feel average-sized for a while. (My minivan looked comparatively tiny in a hotel parking lot the last time I drove through Texas) ;)

Thank you for all the advice. We have now had the truck just a week...it is just over 22 feet long. Amazingly it fits in most normal parking spaces. I think we'll be fine for the most part as long as we avoid parking garages and small parking lots that fill up.

Oh and regarding the TX comment...yeah you guys like everything large down there...a couple years back I was at the Riverwalk at a restaurant and decided to have a BBQ Rack of Ribs...holy moly, I think they brought the whole steer!
