Parking at DVC home resort without reservation?

Well the paper passes are pretty useless as far as the guards checking, so I think those are more for show. When you put them on your dash and park your car, the guards driving by can't see them, the dash is on the other side of your car. They would have to get out, walk around your car and look to see it. And that's IF the guest places it there like they're supposed to, lol. I think generally during non-busy times the guards just generally take note of which cars came in without a hotel reservation and kind of watch for those as they drive around, and take notice of cars that have been there for days that aren't guests. At least that's what I would do if I was a guard.

If there is a problem with the parking the guards can walk the lot and see the passes. Most of the time there are no issues so they aren't going to bother but it gives them a visual to see if they would ever need to.

How are you planning on getting luggage from VGF to BLT and back to VGF if the wait list does not come through? Luggage is not allowed on Disney transporation (except for DME & DCL buses).

We took our bags from Pop to MK and on to Poly without a problem during spring break. I can't see why it would be a problem to do the same from VGF to BLT using the monorail? :confused3

Bell services only transfers luggage once per day (around 2 pm), so your luggage will not be available at the next resort until 4 pm or later.
We had Bell Services take our larger bags from ASM at 7am, we packed a day bag with towels, swim suits & change of clothes. We brought our "wheelie" carry-on size suitcases on the bus to MK and onto the boat to WL. Checked the suitcases at Bell Services and checked into VWL. Took the boat back to MK for the rest of the day until we got the text with our room #. Got our bags brought up to us around 7pm.

The paper passes are not for the guards at the gates. The gates are designed to be used with your MB for entry if you're staying there. The paper passes are for your dashboard for walk-by inspection when PARKED. I have seen them walking around checking (not just driving around), especially at Boardwalk and BLT during busy times. I never saw a negative ramification but then again, I don't whether they ever ran across a vehicle that didn't have one or not.

The paper passes are here to stay for the time being at the most popular resorts and if you have one, I'd suggest you keep it on your dash. YMMV. YOYO.

If this is the case, why wouldn't they give us one at SSR in July? She kept saying that we didn't need them anymore...

B/c Parking isn't an issue at SSR-it isn't walking distance to a theme park like BWV/BC or BLT. The issue at the near park resorts is that people try to park there to either get a closer spot to the theme parks (than the main parking lots) or to avoid paying the parking fee for the theme park (since self resort parking is free)

Have you tried to park at DTD lately? Parking is definitely an issue at SSR, especially at Congress Park.

We stayed in the paddock area in May around Memorial Day weekend and there were always lots of spots. Guess things have changed
