Parking at DisneyWorld??

Hi-

Does anyone know how much it costs to park per day at the parks? I am trying to decide whether I want to rent a car or use the Shuttle. I am staying off property- very close to Downtown Disney- and I think the shuttles from the hotel run $5 per person per day and the shuttle from the Airport would be another $35 each I believe. We will only be going to the parks 2 of the days and Downtown Disney the other day.

Parking at the parks just went up to $9 a day I believe. Parking at Downtown Disney is free. Hope that helps!

I would recommend a car. If you are not staying at a Disney hotel but the hotel you are staying at offers shuttle service, you should check on how often it runs. Disney service runs until at least 2 hours after the park closes (I believe). We stayed off property last year and even though we had shuttle service it was very limited. I believe there were only 3 or 4 heading over to Disney and they same coming back. Check how late the last shuttle runs. If you want to stay for nightime activities (SpectroMagic, Wishes, Fantasmic, IllumiNations) these do not happen until late (9:00 or 10:00 pm depending on the time of year you go). If the last shuttle is before then you will either miss the show (not an option with me - fireworks are my favorite thing) or you will have to take a taxi back to your hotel (an extra expense). Staying offsite I love having the option of my own car.

I would DEFINITELY rent a car, especially if they are going to charge you 5$ per person to ride!

For the $9 charge per day parking at the parks, do they let you hop to other parks or is it $9 at each park?

Since we will only be at the parks 2 days, I really wanted to go to all of the parks. Probably AK and MK the first day and MGM & Epcot the second day. I have 2 days left on my hopper passes from before so this would work if I don't get killed with parking!!

I leave in a week- we will be at the parks on Weds & Thurs next week!! I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!

You pay once and you can park at any park that day.

Almost for convience alone, I would rent a car. That way you are not at the mercy of the shuttle drivers, who tend to take a while dropping everyone off.

Well, I booked a compact car through Thrifty for 3 days for approx $70 icluding unlimited mileage and all taxes and fees. Since this about the same price as the shuttle from the airport for the 2 of us, I guess I did pretty good!

I just wanted to say that you won't be sorry renting a car and parking at WDW. We stayed at a Downtown Disney Hotel on one visit and tried to use the Downtown Disney shuttles for 3 or 4 days before we finally just paid to park at WDW -- well worth $9 a day for convenience alone.
