We are driving down to FL and doing the cruise for three days, then heading to OKW for the remaining part of stay. We want to park right where the cruise ship docks. Is there parking there? Is it safe? How much do they charge?

Another question regarding our bags: if we don't want to bring all our luggage with us on the cruise would it be safe in our car or is there a place it can be held while we are on the cruise?

It's very safe secure parking...very close to the ship.It costs $10 a day. Paid in advance.
I left some bags in the trunk of my car last cruise...no problems there. :D

Parking is right there and $10.00 per day. You pay in advance by cash or charge card. There really isn't place to leave stuff other than the car. The place has security....I wouldn't worry about leaving something in the car. Of course they do have a "we're not responsible for loss" disclaimer. But, I can't imagine how a thief could get into the parking lot. We had to show ID's a couple of times, have our names checked off a list, and have our documents to get anywhere near the lot!

I would not worry - just don't leave anything in site. Also, make sure not to leave any food anywhere in the car and people have had problems with ants invading their car. It doesn't take much and you will get to drive home a few hundred lttle stowaways.

Are the the lots ever full? Meaning that there are no spaces. Is there anywhere else to park if this happens? I would hate to be leaving for a cruise and not be able to park.

Didn't need to last time because we used DCL transfers.

Thanks

When did the parking go up to $10 a day? It was still $7 (or was it $8) when we went in Nov '01.

parking had already gone up to $10.00 per day when we went last October. I guess it's for the additional security.

It went from $7/day to $8/day shortly after 9/11 and from $8 to $10 about six months ago. There is definitely more security and better fencing there now than there used to be.

I've never heard of the lot being too full to accomodate additional customers.
