Parking at Boardwalk

We are staying offsite and would like to go to dinner one night at the Boardwalk, then after dinner we would like to walk around, shop and go to ESPN for some drinks. How long do they allow you to park there if you are not a resort guest? I have read that security will only allow you to park at the Monorail hotels for 2 hours, so you don't use their parking lots to go to the Magic Kingdom. Do the same rules apply at the Boardwalk? I would like to have a leisurely night there, and not have to rush back to my car.
I just can't see the Boardwalk having the same policy as the Monorail hotels -it has alot more to see and do than those hotels. I would think they would expect you to stay for AT LEAST a few hours.

There is an open lot across the street with no time limit. You will probably be directed there anyway if you go at night and the main lot is close to full, especially with no WDW parking permit. Instead of turning left into the main lot, go straight and turn right. If there's a sign on the street pointing straight ahead, that means they probably will not allow you to park in the main lot.

Or you can just pay the 6 bucks for the valet parking and then you just pull right up to the front and drop your car off. No walking, No time limit.

We park at the boardwalk and stay all the time much longer than 2 hours. I have never heard of a time limit. When you go in the guard will tell you which section of the parking lot to use since you are not a guest. It is in the back but not a bad walk.

This is one of those situations that I think depends on the security guard working on that particular day. The BW is a favorite spot of ours to visit and we've had instances where we were waved right through because of our parking pass from another resort and other times that we've gotten a time limit. We typically will go with valet parking though. After all that walking and shopping around the Boardwalk area, the last thing I want to do is walk all the way back to my car.

There's not enough parking for those who are staying there, let alone everyone else in the main lots. This is why 90% of the time visitors are directed to the overflow lot across the street.

Believe it or not valet fills up as well. Happened to us a couple of times and we use it as their resort guests. That place just doesn't have enough parking.

Trust me, the valet is worth it. Even if you're staying on site, if you're like me, i constantly forget where i park my car... and in lot like disney, it's easy to forget.

How far is boardwalk from Epcot. We are thinking of going to epcot early evening, hit up the F&W festival, then hit up Jellyrolls/Espn for some drinks?? Would park at Epcot, but it would be closed by 11:00-midnight (9:00pm closing tome), correct??

yes you would have trouble getting back into Epcot to get to your car.
