Please can anyone tell me what the parking arrangements are if we go from Ashford? price etc and where! Many thanks

There's a big car park right next to the station which costs about £11 per day. Not cheap but really convenient. You also don't need to book in advance which we worried about a bit but when we arrived there was loads of space.

I think I read about cheaper parking somewhere but I don't know where it is.

When we've parked at Ashford it's £11.50 per 24 hours:

That's in the multi storey though, looking at the NCP website the £5 is for car parks D and E, not sure where they are, assume they're a bit further away. I'm sure somebody that has parked there recently will be able to help further.

Just found this: http://www.ncp.co.uk/more/news/ncp_revise/?isChild=true

looks like they've revised their prices since we last went, which is good news.

i emailed ncp to ask where car park D is (cheaper one). They said all there car parks are on the same site. so i will be having a look for it before i park up.

For convenience, park on level 5 if you can - this floor has the walkway straight over to the station :thumbsup2.

If you click on the link that MummyMinnie put up Car Park D is the one South East of the International Train Station - in the little semi circle just above where it says Romney Marsh Road. You can see the letter D as you drive on the main road past the station into Ashford (as I do most weeks). Car park E I can only assume is the one on the other side of the road. Both not that far from the station but D does look nearer.

Oh no, more decisions!
Had originally been planning to leave car at Holiday Inn and get taxi to station, as there are 5 of us we couldn't do the room/taxi combo, but HI have said we can leave our car there for the 6 days for free. A taxi (the last time I checked) will cost us £10 each way for the 5 of us, thereby costing £20 total which seemed a good deal when I thought the car park would cost £11.50 per day, however this carpark 'D' wherever it is would only be £10 more but would mean we wouldn't have to load luggage into the taxi and then to the car.
Can anyone who knows about the car parks give me any advice? Is carpark D a trek away, I presume it's not under cover so that would be a disadvantage if it was raining as I'm presuming a taxi would take us straight to the door. Then again not knowing the taxi firm would I be worrying if they didn't turn up/were late?
How far is it from Ashford Central HI to the station is it an easy route/little traffic on a Sunday morning? Any suggestions?

If I knew how to do signature/tag lines mine would say
"I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!"

Sorry I missed this earlier!! You are right about the carparks (apart form the multi story) not being undercover and I'd also like to put your minds at east about where they are. The ones listed at the bottom of the multistory, it literally just next door. It's between the MS and the Designer outlet, but incredibly close and you can walk it in two minutes :) No need for any other transport :thumbsup2 They are behind metal fences (I don't think they are locked at night). When are you going? I'm literally five minutes down the road and can walk to take a picture tomorrow (sat) or Sunday if you would like to see them for real :goodvibes Just let me know :) Sometimes I love living in Ashford!!

Staying in Ashford (Holiday Inn) Saturday night originally planning to take taxi Sunday morning (£10 for 5 of us) but could get parking in car park D for £30 so only £10 difference.
Question is do we take taxi - pro drop off at door con on return journey might be nice to get in own car straight away or drive pro as above con outside so would get wet if raining ( yes I know that's obvious) and might have to trek with luggage. Cost immaterial as £10 difference is peanuts compared to how much the rest of the trip is costing!
Which would you choose for ease/peace of mind?

Another option is to drop everyone off outside the station & unload, gp park the car & do the reverse on the way back:thumbsup2

Given the choice, I'd actually go with leaving the car at the Holiday Inn and doing the taxi trips. I think it's a safer option with the car due to it being connected to the hotel (and my Dad lives practically next door :rotfl2:) and not in the way of temptation from opportunist. I'm not saying that your car is likely to be broken into, but the cars are visable to everyone unless they are in the mulit story and there is no security patrolling over night (though the are cameras but I don't trust them!).

I can see your point about it being raining, but while we all get wet from time to time :rotfl: I would take the taxi back to the HI and then everyone else can huddle in reception while you load up.....:scared1:
