Parking at a resort for visiting a QS restaurant

Hi. My husband and I are staying at Coronado Springs, but one day for breakfast we'd like to stop at POFQ for the gluten free beignets before park opening. We will have a car. I know you can park for free at resorts if you have ADRs but what about for visiting QS restaurants?

I've read and heard mixed responses to this question. Seems like some of the resorts close to parks (where people might use it for a parking lot that day) might turn folks away most frequently. POFQ is a bit more remote - perhaps they'd allow it. But you might not know until you get there and ask the security person on duty.

The official policy seems to be no, but the reality seems to be maybe. Some people have experienced the security guard allowing them to park without an ADR, and some have been turned away. Perhaps the fact that you are already staying on property will help.

The tough ones are the park walk-ables. Bay Lake Tower is the most strict for sure.

We only stay DVC and have never had a problem but I know others who have. I personally think moderates/value getting into moderates/value would be easier.

As PP stated the official policy is that you need an ADR to park but in practice it really is not enforced outside of the monorail and EP resorts. I have yet to hear about anyone being turned away from other resorts.

Skyliner resorts are rough these days as well, even the values.

They seem to have tightened up on most of the resorts. The last year-plus there's even an actual sign at the entrance of the AKL stating no visitors without a resort or dining reservation - years ago, that wasn't the case there.

We've actually witnessed folks (within the last 12 months) turned away at both AKL (while returning to the resort we were staying) and Riviera (while heading there for a breakfast ADR).

Thanks everyone!! Sounds like it is worth a shot but best to have a plan b just in case.

Riviera makes sense to me if I think about it due to the Skyliner but AKL is really surprising to me.

Us, too. We've stayed there for years and they appeared to put up the sign and start enforcing approx 1 1/2 to 2 years ago (that's when we noticed anyway). We really thought it might've coincided with the extra charge for parking - if they're going to charge, they should be a space for guests! But we were just there earlier this month, post-parking fees, and the sign is still prominent.

AKL is probably because it’s like a 5 minute bus ride to the park. I’ve seen people turned away there.

I think for French Quarter you have a better chance since it isn’t near a park. I’ve found those hotels seem to rarely turn away. And you could try and explain how you are already staying on property not trying to avoid parking fees if they give you a hard time

I'd say it's a beignet emergency - who wouldn't let you through for that?!
We drove into Poly and parked by explaining we totally forgot to pick up dark chocolate Macadamia nuts for grown daughter who had begged us to get when at BouTiki. (true story...forgot)

The guard instantly let us in. Whew. Daughter happy.

They let us in at POFQ for beignets earlier this year. That was after we drove to DS, parked, walked to the DS bus stop (because we were told DS busses started at 9), only to find out from a bus driver that bus service to POFQ from DS didn't start until 10. So we figured we might as well try to get in at POFQ. However, my parents were turned away from Ft. Wilderness for arriving too early for their Hoop Dee Too reservation. I think they drove around for 20 minutes or so and came back and by that time it was close enough to their reservation that they got in.
