We are about to buy a 31' motorhome and need some advice.

We are DVC members and would like to combine stays at Fort Wilderness with DVC resorts. Does FW allow people to park/store their rigs in the outer lot? Is there a fee to do this?

TIA.

. . . no
. . . just not enough room for extra units to be stored

. . . no fee
. . . can't do it
. . . you should be able to park it at your DVC resort

First time we stayed at OKW, we parked the RV right in front of our building. Next time we had to park at PO and was brought to OKW after parking and brought back to PO to get RV when it was time to leave. This was years ago so not up to date with where the RV gets parked now but agree with RS's information.

We did this at both WDW and Universal, and it was always parked in a "back" lot somewhere (not always at the same resort). Always came back to us in the same shape it left us :). I'll never forget the one time at Univeral when they insisted the valet (who looked to be about 16 and 5'5") would take it and park it so we could be let off right at the door. He hopped up in the cab and his eyes got really big! He must have made it, though, since we got it back!

We have parked our 31 ft class C at Wilderness Lodge Villas, Saratoga Springs and Bay Lake Towers while doing DVC stays. Just ask, they'll let you no problem.

Thanks so much! This is exactly the size and type of the RV we bought today. We own at BLT and BCV (I know I've seen big RVs at BCV). We like to stay at SSR often but haven't actually seen any parked there. Seems the nature of the parking lots wouldn't accommodate the larger motorhomes, much like OKW. Do they have a special area?

Thanks for all the replies.....keep them coming please. :)

1) There is a wider parking lot near the golf course pro shop parking.
2) If not busy, they let RV's park there.
3) But, if busy, they make RV's go elsewhere.

We were staying at the Grandstand, and had room in that lot with no issue at the time.

Ah, I see....we always stay in Congress Park, that may not be possible for us with the RV. We may have to expand our SSR horizons in the future.

In February it was no problem to park at AKL. They had several parked in the lot.

This would not have been happening to us. We'd never let anyone drive our mh under those conditions - we would insist on parking it ourselves. :)
