Parkhopper still worth it?

I've been to WDW many times and have always added the park hopping option to my ticket. With FP+ limiting you to one park, is it still a worthwhile option? It seems like now I would be better off spreading my FP+ reservations throughout the entire day rather than limiting them to one half.

Does anyone have any experiences with park hopping since FP+? If so, do you book your FP+ for your first park or second park?

I am starting to feel like I would rather save the $100 it would cost me and my DBF to park hop, since Disney clearly isn't encouraging it with the way FP+ is designed.

If you are staying on-property it's a pretty sweet deal!
You get to utilize rope-drop at one park, then show up at another whenever you feel like with your favorite (or the most crowded) rides pre-reserved. We never have to do rope-drop at DHS again because of this

But if you're staying off-property, hopping is far less appealing because you can only make your FP+ reservations for the park you are currently in. which is almost silly unless you have young children's because you can accomplish so many of they big things between 9&noon then use midday for the calmer things.

The only reason I *might* recommend hopping to offsite guests is if you're night owls AND do Rope Drop AND the parks are open late in general. Then you can get to a park early, reserve FP for midday/late afternoon, hit your "by noon" rides, use up your FP, break for dinner and in the evenings hop to another park to enjoy the low nighttime crowds. (MK for example has SUCH low wait times after 9pm on everything except SM)

You can still park hop, but it requires a bit more planning. Namely, you'll want to know what part you'll go to second, and book your FastPasses for that park, rather than your morning park.

For example, I could do MK Rope Drop in the morning, head back to the villa for lunch and a dip in the pool, then go to Hollywood Studios and have three FastPasses waiting to use.

We always hop. We typically hit one park in the a.m., take a nap at the resort, and then spend the evenings at WS in EPCOT. Not so much driven by where we can get a FP+, but as others have said it still works out to hop if you RD a different park that day.

I haven't gone yet with the new FP+ but I plan on getting the park hopper because when I stay onsite I do the emh at whatever park has them, then I leave and go to whichever park is going to be the least crowded or vice versa depending on am or pm emh. We are also rope drop people and always have been. I also used the old FP- but I never criss crossed the park to get them so FP+ hasn't concerned me, yet. I still have to try it. I might change my mind

This. ^^^ We hopped back and forth to/from EMHs and recommended parks, and we got a LOT done without needing FP+.

This. I actually think with the FP+ system, hoppers are even more valuable. And an MK/HS day is a prime example.

Just there, stayed at YC and did RD and EMH each day and also park hopped every day. always did FP+ at 2nd park of the day and worked wonderfully.

FP+ or not, I will always get a park hopper because it's like insurance to me. If a day at a particular park doesn't work out for some reason (rain, ride closure, illness, etc) I want to have the flexibility to come back another day and do the things I missed. Otherwise, I would have to dedicate a whole other day to that park when I wouldn't have needed to with the park hopper.

Also, I don't have children so that changes the dynamic a little. I love to be able to hope over to EPCOT at night for a few drinks
