I thought I was set with a hotel but HoJo is booked for the time I am going to DL.
I checked a few other hotels and the Park vue is available. I saw the King room with the jacuzzi and it is available. Can anyone tell me if the room is as nice as the photos show. It looks like it would be fun for me and the SO. The bfst looks nice too. Anyone have any reviews.
I am also looking at Candy Cane. They have the birthday special. It is for a standard room only but I was thinking of just getting the King room there. Their bfst is a lower quality than Park Vue too and total cost is more here.
If anyone has any reviews of their stay please let me know, all the reviews I read are 50/50 and I trust people here more than the trip advisor reviews.

You can click on my the link in my sig to see my review of Candy Cane Inn. We've since stayed there two more times and will go again in July. We thought about staying at Park Vue and giving it a try but in the end decided to go with what we know and where we've had a good stay. Also Candy Cane gives you a $10 a night discount coupon off your NEXT stay within the year. They also have a AAA discount and have started offering an AP discount. I've heard good things about Park Vue but just haven't tried it yet.

Stayed at the Park Vue last November. We had a two queen room, near the back of the hotel. I thought it was a great little place. Customer service was great, breakfast was more than enough for us, very fresh and they were refilling the hot dishes pretty frequently. I'm staying there again this May with my husband in the King/Jacuzzi room, and since I had stayed there before they gave us a discount on the rate :)

I've stayed at both of them. It really depends on what you are looking for. The decor and grounds are a bit nicer at the CCI, IMHO. But the rooms are a little larger at the PV. The walk to the CCI is longer, but they do have a very dependable shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour. I would stay at either of them again with out hesitation.

Just got back on the weekend from a week at the PVI.

Hotel/motel was old but they are trying to upgrade it. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Our room had an older tv, however we saw some rooms already had the flat screens. Room had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was good. Make your own waffles, cereals, toast/bagels/donuts, yogurt, fruit and cottage cheese were the staples. Daily the 'main' item changed. It was usually a combo of these items: Scrambled eggs, omlettes, fried potatoes, sausages, biscuits/gravy and bacon.

The evening 'snack' was good as well with sliders, nuggets, mac n cheese etc. There was always a green salad, veggies (carrots and broccoli), jello, potato or noodle salad and maybe some chips.

Lobby always had chocolate chip and sugar cookies along with apples and oranges. They also had a coffee machine, lemonaide and fruit punch. Kids enjoyed getting their little snack each time we returned to the hotel.

The walk was the deal maker for us. After a long day in the park, to walk across the street and be at our hotel was awesome.

We'd stay at the PVI again.

We stayed at the Park Vue last August. I would definitely stay again, based on things others have mentioned.
I will say, we had one minor problem with afternoon rest time. We were on the first floor, about halfway down, and it was NOISY in the afternoon. The cleaning crew/leaf blowing crew kept us awake every day. The solution would be ask for the back of the hotel or second floor. :)

Thank you all, it was a difficult choice but the King bed with the jacuzzi in the room really helped me choose Park Vue. The walk was a definate deciding factor too, but either seemed really close.
I am looking forward to the bfst, that should save us some cash, and I will check out the evening snacks and write a review.
Now I am looking into which tickets to buy and where to make reservations for meals. I know I will book a dinner package for WOC at Ariels but other than that I don't know. I liked the menu for Carnation but I think they will still be closed when we get there.
