Park Vue Inn???

If it were just me, Dh and DD, I would consider walking a little more, but with DMIL it's a different story. Plus DH wants to be no further away than DLH

Well, if walking is an issue, but you want decent quality, what about the Candy Cane Inn? It is farther (similar to Hojo, maybe a few steps more) but has its own free shuttle. It has a great breakfast too.

We stayed at the Parkvue in March and we were plenty happy with it. The breakfast was good. The only thing that I can think of that might be a problem for you is that the vending machine that was closest to our room was out of order. We didn't see any others, to see if they were working, but there were others there somewhere. The Mickey & Me shop was great though, it had a lot of things that we were after - it does close though, which can be a problem when you want a drink after coming back from DLR after a late close.
We'd stay there again. The location to the parks can't be beat.

I believe if you're walking from DLH, it's the same distance to the entry plaza as from HoJo. I know I've seen some sort of a walking distance map before that showed this, but I can't remember where... Now, if you're taking the monorail into DL, then DLH is going to be shorter, but you'd still have to walk to DCA. And the monorail is not convenient at all times (i.e. you can't use it if you want to be in the park at opening, because others at the front gate will be able to enter before you can get there via the monorail.)

Gotta say I'd jump up and down with glee if my husband wanted so badly to stay onsite! LOL He was happy about staying one night on our June trip, and that I was thrilled with! LOL

How about the Tropicana? Breakfast is in the hotel (small but okay offerings). Really nice pool and hot tub (that's one reason why we haven't stayed at the BWPPI, their pool seems small). Clean rooms, good service, and still just as super close to the park.

LOL I know what you mean about you dh! I think the only way I got dh to agree on another Disneyland trip is that I told him we'd stay off site and it would be our "economy trip". We did a lot of spluges last time.

I think the exterior corridors at either BWPPI or Park Vue are not good. I can speak with experience about BWPPI, and it sounds like Park Vue may be even worse as far as outside noise!
I stay at the Park Vue all the time -- just got back from 2 nights there, in fact -- and have never had an issue with outside noise. In fact, it has always surprised me how quiet it is. Granted, you might end up in a room next to a noisy bunch, but that can happen anywhere.

Although I'm a local, I like to go for a couple days at a time without the hassle of driving the 35 miles to and from the park. So, all I'm looking for is a clean, decent place to get a good night's sleep -- and the Park Vue delivers. I've never even gone near the pool nor turned on the TV. Breakfast is very basic (cereal, donuts, fruit) but it tides me over until I can get a better meal in the park. The Park Vue recently added free wireless internet, too -- although I found it to be a little wonky. Still and all, the location can't be beat for the price.

Plus the Park Vue's balcony has a wonderful view of the fireworks. If you aren't in the park, this is a great alternative!
