You might consider paradise pier. That way you keep the early entry privilege. As far as I can tell the only way to get early entry to dca is to stay on site. Since only on site guests can get early entry there. You can do the whole park before it opens to the public. A couple of weeks ago we did everything in cars land, toy story twice California scream 3 times and every small ride in the pier area with basically no wait. As for room to gate it is definitely closer than dlh and closer than some rooms I have had in gch. It is considerably cheaper than dlh and booking through the website we got a free character breakfast. I would easily choose it over off-site.
