Trying to make a decision on which hotel to book for our upcoming Aug. trip. It will be 2 adults and 2 children. From the photos I have seen it appears that both hotels have tiny televisions..yikes! But dont plan on being in the room much except for afternoon naps. If you have stayed at either one..please share your opinion..thanks!!:goodvibes

What's FFI? We stayed at the Red Lion (on Harbor just south of Katella) earlier this month, thanks to Priceline and a $50/night bid. Nice room, and about a 10-minute walk to the parks.

we stayed at Fairfield Inn in 2008 and it was the best nights sleep thier beds are super compfy and you cant beat the 5 min walk to front gates, we would stay there again in a heartbeat!!!!

Thanks, I had no idea Red Lion was in walking distance! FFI is Fairfield Inn on Harbor.:)

5 minute walk? oh that is enticing! I did notice that FFI has Disney themed art in the rooms..my 3 yr.old would love that!!

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn way back in 1998, and it was very convenient. We paid about $45/night then! But with rates usually over $100/night and no breakfast, I can't justify the cost.

we did them thru a pkg deal thru getawaytoday and got a great total trip cost... but we really enjoyed the hotel my only drawback was no breakfast but the did have a pizza hut express type restraunt in the hotel and it was good for something quick!!

DO NOT stay at Park Vue Inn. The beds are like conrete! The rooms are tiny tiny tiny. It may be cheap, but that is the only thing it's got going for it. Definately stay at FFI.

MickeyFlower, are you sure you are talking about the Park Vue Inn across the street from Disneyland? I have heard nothing but great revues recently about the comfortable beds and great rooms? The breakfast is reported to be pretty good also. I am considering staying here on our next trip if I cannot get the HOJO ent. rate:)

That does not sound like the Park Vue I stay at. Not even the cheap part.

I have never stayed at the Fairfield, so I could not reccommend one over the other.

I have stayed at the Park Vue many many times over the past 4 years and have always been very happy. The breakfast is quite good and being right at the crosswalk is just divine.

I have stayed at the FFI for the past couple of years. I loved it. but.....

...Prices are so high now i was wondering about the Park Vue Inn? I have heard great things about it. Would anyone recommend it?

I've stayed at the Fairfield Inn for our last several trips and I love it! My husband and I love how close it is to Mimi's Cafe and McDonalds, plus the rooms have always been comfortable and clean. I know the prices have been slowly edging up but it's always been consistently good for us. :thumbsup2

My family loves it there too. it is just to expensive for me this time.

I heard park vue was a nice hotel and i was just wondering what everyone else thought about it. :]

My friends always stay at Park Vue. PV recently remodeled and on a recent post someone posted pictures. The rooms look great and the beds are supposed to be very nice now. The breakfast includes things like bacon and waffles, so if it were me, I'd go for Park Vue. It's about the closest you can get to the park, too! FFI is down Harbor towards Hojo's--not a long walk, but definitely farther than Park Vue. When I stayed at FFI last Nov. the room was nice and clean but it certainly wasn't large. I stayed there because I had a Marriott gift card so it was free :goodvibes. There weren't very good eating/coffee options in the hotel itself--breakfast and coffee were expensive there!--but there are good places nearby, as mentioned by a PP. Still, I'd much rather have a free breakfast and coffee :thumbsup2. The thing I've found, though, is that PV tends to be more expensive.

right now it seems that park vue is actually cheaper! :]

i think i will give park vue a try.

i also like not having to walk as far when i'm beat tired from a long day lol.

We have stayed in the FFI several times. Actually everytime i have been in the past 15 years.

Pro:
It is walking distance
It has quiet (brick wall) rooms
I could use the Marriott point so i stayed for free
The restaurant out front was great and Mimi's is close
DL Fireworks can been seen from the walkway
McDonalds is basically in the parking lot
Not directly in front of parks so the only people there..belong there

SoSo:
Pool in parking lot, essentially, but you don't notice when you in the water
No real services, little gift shop, Pizza Hut with coffee is only on-site food.

We are staying at the Stovall this trip as it was $900 vs $1200 for the same package (5 nights/3for5 park hooper/premium charact meal and basic DL Travel package) via Costco. AAA was very close on price but no Premium Character Meal and included something different.

oh wow..thanks for the link! I am still undecided about the two..we will have my neice with us as well...so perhaps a room with bunk beds then? I did see that FFI has rooms for $87.00 if you pay in advance..that is pretty darn cheap..so I am teatering on the edge!!:confused3

My family and I are debating between those same 2 hotels, and are still undecided since they both have pros for our family. With us, we want to be closer to Macdonalds and the pizza hut, but yet Fairfield charges for parking and has no breakfast at all. Both costs for us are about exactly the same, so that's no help....

We will have to make a decision soon too though!
