Has anyone stayed here? :confused3

We booked our November stay here back in May and when I was sorting out my paperwork I realised that my on-line booking form said a single king room - and we'd asked for a double queen room (3 of us travelling). On their website they give you the option to 'alter' your booking so I did so but, despite the 'confirmation' page showing the same room rates, the e-mail I recieved from them to confirm the changes gave a different (and much more expensive!) price. I have e-mailed them THREE times but have still not got a reply. I'm totally fed up now as it is really quite difficult to call them from the UK. I'm tempted to cancel my booking but I was really happy with the location of this hotel and would rather stay as close as possible to save using the car.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do to get these people to acknowledge me? Alternatively, can anyone suggest a cheap but well located hotel as an alternative?

Thanks for your help
:thumbsup2

Hello there
Perhaps you may try the Anaheim Desert Inn next door. I've not stayed there but heard that it's clean and acceptable. I would recommend running as fast as you can away from the Park Vue. My sister and her family stayed there in August and said it was filthy. She couldn't bleach the socks white again after walking on the carpet and her children and husband all caught something in the swimming pool there. They had itchy red welts for several days after swimming.
Best of luck to you!

I would also not stay at Park Vue again. We stayed in June and while I didn't notice it was filthy, it was SMALL. We had a room with one kind bed in it and there was barely room to walk on either side of the bed between the window on one side and the bathroom wall on the other. The bathroom was ok but not great and it wouldn't hold water. With a 15 month old that sucked. The parking lot was VERY small and rooms were still under construction so we were walking over debrise at all times. We were paying 126 a night so I was not happy with the product we got. We are trying to find a hotel for the end of September and I refuse to go with Park Vue. Good luck

I had a reservation at Park Vue for the end of Nov, and even saw a room there last June, but I never felt completely comfortable with it. I never received email confirmation until I specifically sent an email and asked for it. I know I've read reviews that mentioned problems with having a room when people arrived (as in the hotel claiming they didn't have a reservation and leaving people without a room at all). Once I found out I could find great, reliable Howard Johnson at the discounted Entertainment rate, it took me just a few minutes to decide to cancel Park Vue!

So, I'd recommend cancelling Park Vue and booking elsewhere. The Howard Johnson is walkable, but further away. You can contact them directly (not thru central toll-free #) and ask if they have the Entertainment Rate available. (You'd need to purchase Entertainment discount book). If they do, it's a great deal at $54 for standard view or $69 for Premium, Disney view which is what we like for watching fireworks from our balcony.

There's a Best Western Park Place Inn that's right at the crosswalk next to Park Vue that we also considered, and gets pretty good reviews. I think there's a Best Western Anaheim Inn on the other side that's also very close.

Good Luck!

Thnaks to everyone for the advice - I've still not heard from the hotel and this, combined with what I've read on here, has made us decide to cancel. We've looked at the other hotels nearby and think we'll probably go for the Best Western Park Place Inn - it's only a bit dearer than the Park Vue (but cheaper than the higher price we were being charged after I made the room change) and it's next door to the Park Vue - with much better reviews.

Thanks again for your advice - it goes to prove, yet again, that the DIS is an invaluable resource!

Thanks all!

Jacqui

The Best Western PPI is a MUCH better choice over the Park Vue, no matter what the price!

Good job!!!!!!!

Please, Please, Please!!!! Follow up carefully on your cancellation.

I have never stayed at Park Vue and never will based on their complete lack of customer service. I had 2 separate reservations for 2 rooms. I cancelled both about 10 days prior to arriving, well within their cancellation policy. Thankfully I retained the cancellation number and email.

Imagine my surprise when my next credit card statement had 2 charges from Park Vue. They had charged me for 1 night for each room claiming I had not shown up. I went round and round with the management of Park Vue and a supervisor from their own booking website. Each blamed the other. I had to put a claim in with my credit card until it got resolved. Finally after about 3 weeks of back and forth blame, the booking website sent me a refund check and said they would take it up with Park Vue personally.

Thanks for the warning. I never received an email when I made the reservation nor when I cancelled it. I just sent them an email asking to confirm the cancellation. I also saved the cancellation # I got on the website when I cancelled, but I'd really rather not have the hassle!

Has anyone had a positive experience staying at the Park Vue Inn? I have a reservation booked there for Oct. I would considering canceling and booking elsewhere except other family members have booked there as well. It would be hard to get them to rebook and find another hotel for all of us with such short notice.

Thanks.

Ok...here's a positive experience with the Park Vue.....actually two.
I've stayed there twice in the last 3 years and both times I had no problems at all.
The location is great. It's right at the crosswalk to cross Harbor Blvd to get to DL and DCA.
IHOP is right in front of it for breakfast although their prices are high.

My only complaints are that the beds are too firm for my taste and that the place seems to be rundown a bit. Oh and parking is in short supply.

I noticed this year that their rates are a lot higher than before so I will not stay here again. You can get better rooms for less money just a couple doors down.

Just got back from the BWPPI and I attempted to book again for November 19-22 and it was booked up. The Best WEstern Anaheim Inn 4 doors down has rooms still but not many. You better book quickly for Thanksgiving.

So about this Entertainment Discount at the HOJO? Where would I get the book? How much is it? The rates you quoted are much cheaper than what I am booked to pay in January....Thanks!
