Park Tours - accessible for the deaf?

I have never done a park tour (such as keys to the kingdom), as I'm severely/profoundly deaf, wear two hearing aids, lipread, but don't use sign language, so didn't see a tour as an option for me.
Just today a friend mentioned that she thought there were now devices which hearing aid users could use during the tours, so I thought I would ask here if anyone knows anything about this? Thanks!

I haven't heard of it for any but one tour at Animal Kingdom and frankly it didn't work at all and I ended up very frustrated and ended up asking for a refund. I'll stick to sign language interpreters. I have tried with just the tour guides and lip reading but you can't depend on them to speak without turning away and even turning their back to you. Only once did Inhave a guide who knew how to work with a deaf or hard of hearing guest

That is exactly my worry, and so sorry it didn't work out for you. Unless the guide is specifically trained in how to communicate with a deaf person, the chances of them keeping it up are minimal, from person experience I know how people forget, and like you say, turn their backs to you, or also put their hands in front of their face etc etc OK, well thanks for your help, seems like it's a no-brainer...

Don't know if you could get it but you could ask for an oral interpreter. They are trained to work with deaf who are oral and lip read. Good luck

Thanks. I sent an email to Disney yesterday, so we shall see what they can provide. I will come back and update this thread.
