We did it this August and I would definitely recommend it, we had a lovely CM and it was just the four of us going round with her. It's amazing that even having been so many times how many things we have just never noticed!.
Definitely doing the Studio tour next time.
I've done both tours and loved them. Even though you'll probably know most of the stuff it's still very interesting. We especially liked the Studios tour but then I do love that park, even though I know I'm in the minority.
No, IMO it's really for adults and older children. They don't say or do anything on the tours to spoil the magic but I think most children that young would be bored although of course all children are different. My youngest was a month off her 12th birthday when we did ours.
I'd say 6 is too young - because its 2 hours plus of walking around the park, discussing the landmarks/stories behind the buildings etc, and not going on any rides .
My two are 13 and 9 and my 9 year old enjoyed it but (and I think the heat wasnt helping) she did flag a bit towards the end. The CM was lovely and really included her in all she said but I wouldn't have taken her any younger. It's for two hours and ours ended up being 2 hours and 20 as it was so busy and hot and we still didn't cover everything!
Thank you for posting about this! I think that's a bargain of price for a 2+ hour tour...do you think it's easy enough to book once we arrive (we would need it in English, of course...lol)? Or should we plan it before we go? And does everyone receive the pins mentioned in the link?
we booked it at City Hall on our first day in the park, Sunday, and did the tour on Tuesday. You definitely should book as early in advance as you can, to ensure you get an English-speaking tour and the day/time you prefer.

When we did the tour of DLP it took us nearly two and a half hours to complete it. Our tour guide was fantastic and on our last trip we bumped into her again in Main Street and stopped for a 30 mins chat.
We will be doing the WDS tour and The Tower of Terror one too on our next trip.
The tours are good for adults and older children, 10 upwards I'd say as there is a lot of walking involved. Book as soon as you arrive at City Hall for the time and day of your choice (avoid the weekends). You get a nice pin at the end and a peak behind the magic too.
