I want to take a tour when I am there in November with my son. I am looking at either the Cruzin' Disney's California Adventure Park or A Walk in Walt's Footsteps.

Disneyland is my favorite park of the 2, I am a true Disney nut. But now that they have taken out the look at Walt's Apartment and the ride on the Lily Belle, I am just not sure it is worth it anymore. Yes, it sounds like you get to hear stories. But I have read all the books on Walt, and watched the documentaries about him and DL, so I'm just not sure about this tour. A look at Club 33 is the only thing it sounds like that you can't do normally.

I really don't know a thing about the Cruizin' tour. Has anyone taken it? Can you give me any details? The segway sounds like fun.

So, looking for details on Cruzin' tour and any opinions of Walt's Footsteps tour.

Thanks so much!!

We loved the segway tour - it really was a lot of fun. You meet at about 7:15 and are done a little before 10:00. My favorite part was towards the end of the tour they let us have some free time and ride our segways down Hollywood Boulevard to the rope drop where people were waiting to get in.

As far as riding the Lilly Belle - anyone can do that if they are running the car that day. Just go to the train station at Main Street and ask a CM if it's available to ride that day. We did that and they told us to come back at a specific time in the afternoon when a CM would be available to ride with us. :goodvibes

I love the Segway tour and have done it half a dozen times. Riding a Segway is very easy and I'm sure you'll have a great time. There is an age and weight limit, so make sure your son meets all the criteria before booking the tour. If you do the Segway tour, wear closed toe shoes, but other than that there's nothing special you need to do. :)

Have a great trip!

I have done the walk in walt's footsteps (a couple of times) and I don't do it for the Club 33...to me that was a waste since you only get in the door (unless they have changed this since 06). You may even get to ride the elevator but you don't actually tour the Club....

I did the segway tour in disney world and would do it again.

So if you need to have a choice, you may want to do the segway otherwise do them both!

Different guides have different views of things and usually I learn at least one new thing on the tour. Also, check the other "extras" if any on either tour...that sometimes makes the difference for me.

Have fun!

What do you do on the Segway tour?? Do you ride any rides? Do you see special stuff that you can't normally? That is what I am most interested in. Riding the Segway sounds like fun. But if I am paying, I want to see something I can't see during my normal touring time.

Thanks so much for the answers.

You do not ride any rides - you are in the park before it opens so you get to cruise around the park w/o anyone in it. They give you drinks and muffins/fruit while you watch a video and then you learn how to ride the segway. The only spot they took us that was "backstage" was a small pathway through Bugs Land and I believe that has become a regular walkway now. They also take you through the Redwood Creek Challenge area which was fun. The guides were great and gave little bits of trivia along the way, along with pointing out some hidden Mickeys. You also get a free photo and a pin.
