Assuming you are only visiting each park once, I’m curious to which park people like experiencing at the end of their trip. I used to always think Magic Kingdom, but someone recently suggested Animal Kingdom as a relaxing way to end a trip.

We like to do the morning in MK on departure day.

Last trip we had breakfast at The Plaza Restaurant, took pictures at the purple wall, went on the people mover, space mountain (only because we noticed the line was so short while in the people mover), then wrapped it up with shopping... and back to the resort in time to catch DME.

We really only planned for breakfast and shopping... and got lucky with space mountain... we like a relaxing departure day.

I love to end at AK. It’s not a full day park for me (without the shows) so I get there for rope drop, ride attractions before lunch, then relax and shop until it’s time to head back to the resort/airport. When I was there a few weeks ago, I loved sitting down near the water in front of Everest with a beer, watching the floating cavalcades. It was a great way to end the trip.

I responded Magic Kingdom before I read the content of your first post. I was just going by the title of the thread. If I only had one day at each park, which seems like torture to me, I would probably skip a park and have two Magic Kingdom days.

One of the MK days would be the last day. The other would be either the first or second day. That way if we had bad weather we would still ensure that we at least had one good Magic Kingdom day. It is our quintessential park. At this point we would skip animal kingdom, if we only had four full park days.

I always end with Epcot for a few reasons. I don’t generally find it to be a full day park, I spend my morning packing so by the time I show up, I’m actually in time for the 11am rope drop at Epcot, it’s the most relaxed park IMO, and I’m usually staying at Boardwalk so I can always walk back in time to catch my transportation to the airport. No issues with late buses or other Disney transport mishaps.

Magic Kingdom is just tradition for us. When my oldest was small we would always stay at the Contemporary. We would watch the Night parade/Wishes then slowly stroll back to the hotel with my daughter all decked out with flashing necklaces and wands dancing the whole way. We don't really stay in the CR anymore, and the parade and late hours are a thing of the past, but somehow, the tradition stayed.

For our trip in July we will be headed to Animal Kingdom on our last day. You can typically see the entire park before lunch so after 2pm we will parkhop and head to what ever we want to do again or potentially missed.

As a Florida resident our packages only include 3 or 4 day passes. If we had more than 4 days we would start and end our trip at Magic Kingdom.

Normally my answer would be Epcot as we love to start and end our trips there. But if I’m only doing each park once? I think I’d go HS. There’s not a ton there that we consider “must do” so we could be leisurely about the day.

The most relaxing way to end a trip is at a nice table service somewhere not worried about being in the mass exodus after fireworks (not that there are any right now). :earsboy:

First or only trip for someone in the party - MK. There's no better place to get that last bit of magic and wonder before the travel grind home begins than the castle.

Any other time -rotates based on plans. We know we'll be e-mailing Dreams Unlimited to be back 5 minutes after we leave so there's no pressure to put that end cap on the magic. It's more of a (as Mickey says) see ya real soon than a vacation ending.

MK first day, MK last day. Eat at 'Ohana on last day and usually tried to watch fireworks while at 'Ohana, but the last time we finished eating and went back into MK and watched right inside the entrance. We'll do this from now on.

I went with AK just because I've done 4 park day trips before and they're always long weekends, I have a weird "thing" about doing parks "in order" so AK always ends up being last on those trips. It works out too because it tends to be less stressful (at least in FP times, I always had one for FOP so would avoid that rope drop rush and just go on NRJ).
