Does anyone know if it is cheaper to buy the park tickets here in the uk or when you get to disney? Thankyou :confused3

Think it all depends on when and who you book from and what the exchange rate is at the time.
Also, when you book in the UK, not only do you have to take into account the commision that you'll be paying to the agency, but the upside is that it's all paid for before you go.

The last time we went, we just got our tickets there and paid on the visa. When we got home, we found out that the exchange rate went up to $1.90 to the pound and we ended up paying a lot less than what we were expecting, so in that case, yes, it worked out cheaper.

This time, because we're going to Discovery Cove, we've booked all our tickets in advance apart from Universal Studios. The UK deals on offer don't seem to be as good as the deals in Florida, so we're just going to get them at the gate.

Feel slightly better this time as we don't need to worry about keeping £1000 free for park tickets as it's mostly all paid for before we go.
Plus, when I compared what we paid for our tickets compared to getting them at the gate, there wasn't that much difference by the time you take into account the local sales tax on top of the price.

Hope this helps :)

Also depends on what type of tickets you want - if you only need a couple of days then no point buying the Ultimates or Premiums I would have thought, or if upgrading them to non-expiring is of interest and would be of use to you then the MYW ones would do that and if you could get them before the rumoured price increases that may outweigh any savings due to exchange rate changes.

Depends on where you are planning on buying them.

If you are buying them at the gate I would seriously consider using someone like www.mapleleaftickets.com as you will definitely save a few $$$.

For Universal and Sew World it's often wise going direct from them as they frequently have good offers on.

Generally I would always recommend buying before you go, where and what you buy depends on what type of tickets you need.
Are you visiting ALL the parks or just WDW? You can buy 3 day, 4 day, 5 day etc - tickets that never expire, the list is endless.

I have always, barring the first holiday, bought them before we went. Then I just go on holiday knowing what the budget is, without having to factor tickets in.

Also the tickets for Disney that we buy are not available over there and are good value. It also saves lining up at busy ticket desks in a morning, then having to line in to get into the park. I am all for an easy life.
