Not sure if this is posted in the right area or not....but looking for the following answer.

If my check in day is Tuesday, and I have purchased 6 day tickets, would I be able to use the tickets on Monday? Considering changing my flights from Tuesday to Monday with Southwest, but the Monday night at a value resort is $155 :scared1:
Was thinking that I could stay offsite for the first night, but TA informs me that I won't be able to access anything until Tuesday morning. Trying to decide if the extra $190 (with park tickets) is worth it for one more day.

$35 for park tickets only sounds much better. :rotfl2:

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #15-I, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!

Thanks Cheshire Figment!!:thumbsup2

That was an awesome sticky! I looked at the top of this board for a sticky but didnt see one, so thank you for directing me to the right place.

Now I just have to get my TA to do this for me! He is insisting that it cannot be done. :(

All your TA has to do is change the flight and book the offsite resort; just tell him (or her) that you'll worry about whether or not you can get into a park that first day.

uggghhh! That's what I am planning on doing, but thought I'd contact Disney just in case.

So frustrated right now! I just "chatted" with Disney and they are telling me no! I do not want to go down the day before to not be able to get into the parks! I know Disboards is full of information but how can I get confirmation from Disney on this! It's not right if they are "hiding" this information when I specifically ask a question!:confused3

Thank you for contacting Disney. Please hold while we route your chat to a Disney Cast Member who will help you with your question.
Welcome to Disney! My name is Chandler. How may I help you today?
you: I have a question regarding park tickets and packages. I have a four night stay booked at the end of the month. I arrive on the Tuesday. I am considering changing my flight time and arriving on Monday. I know I can add an extra day park ticket to my package. I will not be staying onsite on the Monday. I have heard that I can visit a guest relations office and pick up my package on the Monday and use my park ticket on the Monday even though I am not checking in until Tuesday. Can you please tell me if this is correct?
Chandler: Welcome to Disney. park tickets will only start the day of check in at the Walt Disney World® resort you are staying at for the arrival date you booked. It cannot be started anytime before that. Those tickets are attached to that package.
you: Are you positive? My TA said the same thing, but yesterday I found out that you can access your park tickets up to three days before. You will not have access to your dining credits but you can use your park tickets.I went back to my TA and he says no, so I need to know the correct answer.
Chandler: As per the information that I have available my previous answer to your question is correct. You cannot access your park tickets if they are booked with your Walt Disney World® resort stay until you check into the resort that the tickets are booked with. If you had purchased park tickets separately and they are tickets only then you can access them at anytime and only have to go to the will clal box office of any theme park ticket kiosk or the one at Downtown Disney® and pick them up.

Trust Cheshire Figment, he knows what he's talking about, he works in ticketing. If it's any consolation, it's been widely reported on this forum that phone CMs will tell you no, but that it can absolutely be done.

That is comforting to hear! I do find that sometimes calling WDW you get different answers, but just "chatted" again and was really thorough and specific and still got the same answer. Even said where to find the policy from the sticky, but cast member still said no can't be done.

Am thinking I am going to just go with Cheshire Figment advice.Just a bit scared that I will spend the extra money for the days ticket for the Family and Parking only to be turned away:sad:. Wouldn't be a great way to start a magical vacation!

The ticket sticky specifically states that if you call or contact Disney they will tell you that it cannot be done. Only the actual ticketing CMs can do it, so anyone else you ask will say it will not work. Cheshire Figment is a ticketing CM. Trust him over anyone else. :thumbsup2

Thank you very much! I misunderstood the sticky, I thought that this was something that cast members knew about, but didn't offer freely LOL.

In any event, I will go with Cheshire Figment's suggestion, but I think I will add the extra day myself when I pick up my tickets from DTD guest services. I can switch my airline ticket myself as well. That way I don't have to hear any grief from my TA. Hoping I won't have a problem adding on the one day down there, since right now I am not allowed to make any changes or inquiries on my package through WDW travel company, since it is owned through my TA.
