Park Tickets Purchase Strategy Question

We are going to Disney in June. We purchased tickets a few weeks ago (5 day passes) when we believed we were staying off property. Tickets purchased for 6/24. This week we decided to stay on property at the cabins. 6/23-6/30. Should we move our tickets up to the 23rd? The 24th is our first REAL day. However, I can make them 6day tickets for about $100 total. If we move the tickets, it gives us the option to go to the Mk for a couple hours, get a taste of it, etc. (without it becoming exhausting).

Here’s the question. What happens if we move up the day, but don’t actually go on the 23rd? I am not worried about the ticker, because we would use it in the same capacity in one of our nonpark days(just go for a couple of hours). The Pro of doing this is that it gives us the flexibility of schedule and allows us access to the FP+ a day earlier than before. (Meaning we get HS at 64 days and AK 65 days instead of 63/64.)
The con would be what? Would it mess up our tickets?

1. There is no real "should" involved. If you know that you will WANT to go into a park on 6/23, make the change. (Which you can wait to do until just before your FP booking date.)
2. Sounds good.
3. Nothing.
4. Yup.
5. Not a thing.
6. Nope.

Maybe someone can weigh in on this, but I heard that FP opening window is tied to hotel arrival now, not ticket dates. So if you arrive on 6/23, you are able to book tickets 60 days before 6/23, even if your tickets start on 6/24.

I'm totally open to being corrected, but I think this was what I got on another thread.

Have you booked your reservation for the cabins? There should be a confirmation email that tells you the date your FP can be booked.

You are correct. Having the tickets start a day earlier or later does not change when your day 60 is. We don’t go to the parks on our arrival day and last year getting the tickets starting on our 60+1 day was slightly less expensive. I was very nervous that my FP window wouldn’t start until 60 days before the first valid day of the tickets but that was NOT the case. I was able to make FPs 60 days from my checkin day.

The main thing is that we DONT KNOW if we want to. We probably won’t know until the day of if we want head over or not. However, learning that moving up the ticket one day gives us the flexibility, but one screw things up if we don’t go, makes it easy to decide to move the ticket up. Thank u for the earlier info.

If you don't care about booking advance FP+ for 6/23, you could wait as late as until you have actually arrived at WDW on 6/23 to change the start-date to 6/23 (and add a day, if you like.)
This is why I'm saying that there is no real "should" about changing/adding the day... or not.
This is all possible due to you not buying your tickets as part of a WDW resort "room & tickets" package.
