If we do NOT purchase park hopper tickets, is it possible to get into the restaurants at a specific park? Is it possible to spend the day in MK and eat at Animal Kingdom in Jiko, without a park hopper ticket?

Excuse my ignorance...haven't been to WDW in years...so much has changed! Thanks in advance!!!

For that particular scenario, yes it would work. Jiko is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so you don't need a park ticket.

However, if you were to dine in an Epcot restaurant (Marrakesh, Rose & Crown, etc.) you WOULD need a park ticket.

Enjoy Jiko, it is out of this world:Pinkbounc

You would not need to use your park hopper day to eat at any restaurant in the resorts. You would need to use a hopper day to eat in any of the theme park restaurants. Once you use a hopper day to go into any one of the parks, you could then "hop" to eat at any restaurant in any of the 4 major parks. Hope this isn't too confusing!!

Ok, as others have mentioned, Jiko is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, not the Animal Kingdom theme park. So anyone can
eat there, because all resort restaurants are accessible as
long as you figure out how to get there. ;)

But if Jiko were inside the theme park, hypothetically speaking, you definitely would need a park hopper pass for that scenario.
The only pass that isn't a "hopper" is a one day, one park pass.
And if you tried to use that at two parks, the turnstiles at the second park will reject it.

I do not know if they still have this option, but a long time ago, I with some buddies bought a shopping pass. It was good for 2-3 hours. We had to buy the full days ticket, and when we came back with in the time frame, along with a store purchase we were refunded either all or most of the money. My memory is a little fuzzy as it was over 10 years ago. We were visting Universal and in college and no money. We had to buy something for a friend. We asked if we could ride a ride with this option and they said yes as long as we get back. It was in May and very low attendance, we ran pretty fast to each attraction. There was no lines, I think we did POC, splash, BTMR, HM and SM in the time frame. So if they offer still this, this could be an option.

As far as I know, these are no longer available...

The shopping pass was discontinued quite a long time ago. As mentioned above, park admission is required to dine inside the theme parks. Resort restaurants require no admission tickets. Enjoy!!
