I am plotting out our next park ticket purchase. My thought process is just based on current pricing. I am positive they will go up next year. Let me know if I am looking at this correctly.

To get the platinum plus (including water parks) AP for my family of 5 would be $4520.95. This would cover 2- 7 night trips. One in July 2020 and one in April 2021.

My other option in order to only have the water park access during our July trip would be to buy the 7 day PH+ --This would be $2655.45 (from UT).

Towards the end of our July trip (after we have used the water parks) I could upgrade to the Gold AP - for an additional $587.50. To cover our tickets for April.

Looks like we would save $1278 by not buying the Platinum + AP. I don't know if they still bridge ticket prices or they retain the value of what you purchased whether from UT or from Disney.

The only uncertainty would be the blackout dates in April. I'm trying to plan during our kids April vacation so in 2021 Easter is on April 4th and school vacation is typically the 3rd week of April - so i should be ok with black out dates.

Any other thoughts or considerations i should think about?

In the past, if you had a ticket with the water park option and you USED one of more of those water park options, your only annual pass upgrade option was a pass level that included the water parks. I suspect that this restriction is still in place.

Yes, Disney still price bridges tickets purchase from 3rd party resellers.

I was worried that this would be a little kink in my plan.

I'll have to price out just one day water park tix to see what makes sense. We are trying to have a more relaxed trip - less parks more other things like mini golf and water parks.

Members can purchase 1-day water park tickets for $49 plus tax per person.
