Park Ticket prices

Caroline, as you are a DVC member you get $100 discount per person off an annual pass (slightly more for Premium Annual Pass) may be worth buying these compared to ultimate? I was thinking of doing this. what do you think Wayne?

Depends how many trips in the year, with the poor exchange rate AP are V. expensive just now. We have decided not to renew ours this August. Even with DVC disc a premium AP is over £350. Ticket choice gets more complicated every year.

I can also recommend Charter Travel. I looked everywhere for the best prices and they worked out about £34 cheaper than Virgin for 2 adults and 1 child, 7 day Disney tickets. Booked it with them and have got the receipt. They send the voucher out about 2 weeks prior to departure.

this is actually for my Flexticket plus via Virgin.

AM not getting AP's this year - too expensive for us this time round. Am just going to put a 5 day base ticket from park tickets dot com as you get a free upgrade to 6 days! This will cover us - £175 each which is good in my opinion!

To be fair if you work it out the base price of the ticket has not risen(if it has its only a tiny amount) its the exchange rate thats working against us just now, Disney are not getting anymore now than they were last year.

Virgin have the 14 day ultimate at £215 less upto 10% with FVC disc or 5% with FC.
If you can get the 10% off thats £193.50 plus if you buy thru Quidco in theory should get another 4% cashback end cost is £185.76 or £53.24 cheaper than ATD.

You will also find the AP has gone up considerably due to the exchange rate. Last year we paid about £210 to renew basic AP, this year over £300 again Disney not charging anymore just poor exchange rate. We have decided not to renew.

Thats really interesting Wayne - I am a FVC and Quidco member how do I go about getting the discount? I would really appreciate this info as I just signed into Quidco, then Virgin, then FVC and there was no info at all about Park Tickets or discounts. I am new to FVC so haven't really got to grips with it yet!

Do you mean you have signed up to the Flying club with Virgin Atlantic?
https://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/index.jsp
Or
FVC= Frequent Virgin http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/fvc/
You can't sign upto this, its invitation only.

If it is FVC you mean and new member I don't think you get the 10% discount offer anymore, its only for old members.

Also since posting this info some people have had problems getting the discounts. Others have rung and got the discount some have not, all depends who you get on the phone. So its all a bit hit and miss, if you still want to try you have to go thru Quidco click thru to VH website, under travel extras click on Attraction tickets then order thru there, when you get to final page it gives you a box to enter either your FVC or FFC numbers for discounts.
I would only do this if Virgin are cheaper without discounts as they are not guaranteed. Any discount then would be a bonus.

I am a new member to FVC (I have also signed up with FC but I understand that they are different). I am next visiting Orlando in April 2010 and it is this trip booked with VH that qualifies me as a FVC member so none of the usual benefits apply to this booking.
I am going to re read the rest of the thread as I got distracted by your post! I may give VH a call tomorrow and try my luck and see what I can blag - nothing ventured nothing gained. I have history with the founder of ATD as we got into a heated discussion in 2004 about what beating a price means! I notice they only price match now and that is with qualifications.
Thanks Wayne for your reply and if I get a good deal I'll be sure to share it here.
