Park Sizes?

Hi all,

We've got our 1 day split between Epcot and AK coming up in a few weeks, but I really can't remember the size of each park?

How long does it take to walk around the World Showcase?

At AK, how long does it take to walk from the entrance to EE? And from EE to Safari? As EE, Safari and Dinosaur look to be quite far apart? We'll be arriving around 11 so should we be doing EE then Safari then Dino?

I'm planning our day but don't want us to be running all day! :rotfl:

Around World Showcase I'd say maybe 3 hours if you wanted to see everything. Like if you walked with your head down maybe 40 minutes, but then why bother?

Entrance to EE - I'd say about 20 minutes, but then you wouldn't see any of the animals in the entrance area, so it takes us about 50 minutes.

I would really give them a day each, as it sounds like you're going to go to Animal Kingdom and not actually see any animals. And then go to World Showcase and not learn much about the World. Plus future world has awesome attractions, and the Seas which is amazing.

I'd choose one park or the other and do them properly. We love AK.

If you do do AK in a rush jsut to ride the 3 rides I'd get there ASAP, get a Safari FP, and then ride EE, go back to the safari and then ride Dino.

Good luck with this. These are the two largest parks. I would be afraid of being completely worn out.

We'll be at AK from about 11 (maybe earlier) until about 5 (perhaps leaving during the parade, but may leave a little bit after if we want a rest) so be most of our day there, but be starting at epcot doing a FW ride or two and ending there too just to wander through the WS and see the fireworks :goodvibes:

Guess we'll have to be prepared to be warn out by the end of the day!

Oh, that should be good then. :)

11-5 you should be able to see and do plenty. Take some time to see the animals and admire the tree. :)

You will be VERY worn out! But you'll have done a lot.

Epcot is HUGE. It really is a 2 day park since it is so spread out. Also, the world showcase has a lot of outdoor shows and things going on in the afternoon that you will miss. Honestly, I would pick one or the other and not waste the time travelling from one park to the other and then back again.

Although I like both parks, I would definitely pick Epcot over AK but that is just my opinion. My kids love epcot.

We don't have the option of adding additional days and don't plan on seeing the Epcot shows, so we're happy doing both. Both AK and Epcot are faves of mine and since this one day is our only chance for Disney (DBF has never been), I'd like to show him some highlights from both.

What a shame he won't see the castle :( Or go on Tower of Terror.

He'll have an amazing time though and hopefully you can convince him to go back for a Disney fest ASAP.

He's been to Disneyland Tokyo and Disneysea Tokyo so has been on their Tower of Terror and seen their castle :goodvibes: so this was something a bit different - guess I should've been specific, this is DBF's first time to Orlando and Disney Orlando

You might have to hoof it to do what you want to at AK even during that amount of time. We go to specifically see the Safari, Dinosaur and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. We also try to work in as many animal exhibits as possible and maybe see ITTBAB. We arrive at rope drop and still end up leaving in the early afternoon!

Your day sounds like fun though!

If you need a break after AK - and since you'll be heading back to World Showcase in Epcot - how about doing this: Take the bus from AK to Disney Studios. Pick up the boat at DS and ride it through the Boardwalk area to the back entrance (International Gateway) of Epcot. It will save your feet some as it deposits you directly into World Showcase, and you'll get a chance to sit and rest a bit on the boat ride over.

I tend to think that Epcot is the most romantic park - but it may be because we got engaged there :)

Good luck - that's a lot of park to cram into one day.

Would OP not be quicker just hopping on the YC/BC bus and then walking from BC to Epcot - I think I'd stop for a late lunch at Beaches and Cream. :)

During our last trip, I busted my hump to get FPs for the Safari while our DDs and DW were playing in the Boneyard. I made it there and back in ~20 minutes with moderate to low crowds. The sad part is that when we went to ride the Safari ~2pm, we walked on and the CMs didn't bother to take our FPs. People were actually staying on the ride to go around again @ the end of the ride. :confused3

Oh, and on park sizes, I believe it goes DAK > EP > MK > DHS

last Friday we did both parks. got everything done we wanted to

went to AK at rope drop and used FPs. we were there until 3- went back to resort and swam 2 hours then went to Epcot from 7- 12am and did all of Future world.

we did skip some things that didnt interest us- been there before. Went back to epcot another day and did WS. never went back to AK cause we got it all done.

May was perfect as far as crowds go
