Hi everyone,

I have been looking for a while now for a small rucksack / backpack that I can take to the parks. I have a normal sized rucksack but it is a bit big - OH is going to have his camera / wallet / tickets in his bumbag so all I need is a bag that I can carry a couple of bottles of water and my camera / money / tickets in... You wouldn't think it was that difficult but I can't seem to find what I need :confused3

Does anyone know of any online shops or have any tips on where you got the perfect park bag from?? I prefer rucksacks to messenger bags, ideally I would like it to be purple / lilac coloured, and I suppose half the size of a "normal" rucksack would be best.

Hi

If you go on tog24.com and click on accesories, then luggage, then backpacks, theres a little pick backpack called FRANKIE KIDS BACKPACK.

They're really flat, so to go on rides just put it on your front and CM don't have any problems with it.

its also reduce..:thumbsup2 which can only be a good thing

Hope that helps, and have a good trip

Thanks very much - I have had a look and it seems the perfect size... only problem is that I'm not a big fan of red and it is also out of stock so the search continues!

Have a look at the Baggallini Bags - there is a lot of talk about using these bags on the American threads and they do look really good - might buy one myself :goodvibes They come in all colours too :cheer2:

Not sure where is the best place to get one - maybe try Ebay and you should find someone who will ship internationally.

the Decathlon shops always have nice rucksacks (saw some nice this morning). Not sure if the website has everything they have in store, but may be worth a look

I got a nice little black/pink one cheaply in walmart, nearly sure there was a lilac one too. Fitted camera/ponchos/snacks on the inside and had a little mesh pocket on each side which were perfect for bottles of water. There was also another pocket on the front, handy for painkillers, chewing gum etc.

I don't see the point in getting an expensive bag for going around the parks as it will be shoved on the floor or in a compartment on rides, get wet, get suncream on it etc. :confused3

Good luck with your search.
Be warned if you're tempted with a kids rucksack, the bag compartment may look the perfect size but I would check that the straps are big enough to fit an adult.
A mistake my friend made.

Thanks for all your suggestions - I'm sure I will find one soon :)

PoppyAnna - I had thought of that, it's the reason I really wanted to "try before I buy" but I guess I will just have to trust to luck if I am buying it off the net!

Argos have an Eeyore backpack which is lilac and £12.99 and not too big. You could return that if the straps were too short! :)

Why not combine the water bottle requirement with the rucksack itself and have a look at a Camelbak http://www.camelbak.com and look at their Hydration Packs...

They're available at most bike/outdoor shops (or they sell their equivalent brand). We've had one for four years and although they're a phaff to keep clean, the concept is great -you can even cool the bladder with the drink in it overnight and they come in all shapes and sizes.

Cheap not, quality items though.
