Park/ride winners announced

Well, Disney's been a little flat lately. Maybe Mission Space will be a contender next time.

This appears to be for roller-coasters mainly. I've been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and it's not really a park, just a collection of rides near the beach. Most of them were old and creaky.

I can't believe Dudley Do-Right placed 2nd for best water ride. I thought it was really lame and cheap looking.

I wonder what the three-year format - capacity award means.

If you click on the editorial section at the bottom of the page they will explain what three year format means.
I dont think the voters are primarily coaster enthusiasts but people from the theme/amusement park industry.

Thanks. The articles says that "surveys are sent to experienced enthusiasts from around the globe." Doesn't this mean fans? If it is industry people than wouldn't they just vote for their own product?

Quite honestly, they must be joking! BG Williamsburg, best food?!?!? They have no table service restaurants, primarily hot dogs, burgers and barbeque. The Central Florida parks (Disney and Universal) have much much better food. Seems like an awful lot of Holiday World and BG fans were sent the survey.

I agree with the comment about Dudley, as well. What about Splash Mountain or Jurassic River Adventure - far deeper in theme and quality than the 2-D adventure that is Dudley.

Best Shows is another laugher - BG Williamsburg number 2! They have ONE show for the most part - an Irish Dance thing, ala Riverdance, unless you want to count the 3D movie - not the Haunted Lighthouse as it is too new to be included in this survey, rather the uninspired pirates 3-D.

Honestly, who are these yahoos that were surveyed???

Stupid survey.

They picked Knoebels Amusement Resort (a really neat old fashioned amusement park in the hills of central PA) for best food and best dark ride.

Don't get me wrong, the food is good, plenty of choices and cheap (relatively).

The HM ride is scary but silly at the same time. Nowhere in the same league of HM at WDW. But they do have the dark part right. It's almost pitch black at some points.

What is DOES have is the one of the BEST wooden roller coasters.

The Phoenix!!

Disney can dominate these lists by sticking to the Disney magic. Example: Journey to the Center of the Earth over in Japan is AWESOME!!! Why isn't that here? Disney can out do everyone if they combine dark rides with a roller coaster thrill ride. That's the key. For Example: Like the Mt. Everest Exp. ride at AK due to open in 2006. This is what Disney needs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now THAT's the Disney Magic we all know and love!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
