Park reservations tips?

So I just activated our MK passes, and have scoured Disboards for advice on getting park reservations (not ADRs). They seem to have changed a lot since MKs were first released, so thought we could crowdsource our best advice for getting park reservations here. A couple questions:

1. Is there a pattern to when new reservations (for dates within the 90 day window) open up? What about new reservations 90 days out?
2. Are same day reservations ever available? Haven't seen any so far.
3. How hard is it to get weekends? We've been having trouble getting any despite checking on a couple different occasions.

Any other tips for making park reservations? Thanks in advance!

What kind of key do you have? The next few months are rough because there are a LOT of block-out dates for everything but Inspire keys (or any remaining Dream keys).

Same-day reservations usually aren’t available because there isn’t any way to make a same-day cancellation for a MK park reservation. The best bet is the day and evening before, when people cancel next-day reservations so they don’t get a penalty.

We’ve never had trouble getting any days, including weekends, when we book 90 days out (but we’re not local so all our trips are planned well in advance).

If you’re staying at a DLR hotel you can use the hotel bucket, which usually is wide open. It won’t get you in on days the MK is blocked, but it will if the situation is just that no MK reservations are available.
