We made rope drop today, as per usual. Crowds were about a third larger than average. But given the time of year, they weren't bad at all. We were, essentially, first on PP. Actually, a couple who are friends of mine downgraded several months ago to Flex Pass and now they don't come as often. So when they are there, I always let them go ahead of me/I do what I can to help them to be first on PP. So they were first, I was second and some other friends were third.
Otherwise, the visit was largely uneventful except that it was my last park visit until I return to LA for Sunday Jan 5. For my first four rides on Buzz , two scores came through and two didn't. The ratio improved later slightly and fortunately my score of 2,040,000 came through. Friends are still there now and just sent me a message that I'm still at the #1 slot on the scoreboard
.
Incidentally, many of you may recall my dissatisfaction with the post-refurb charge for cups at Pizza Planet. An empty foam cup (I bring my own tea and simply get a cup and some hot water) costs $3.40. Literally an empty cup. I can actually buy a full cup of tea at Starbucks for nearly sixty cents less. Sometimes the CM at the register will simply let we have one but recently they haven't. So I went to Starbucks and they let me have one, no problem at all. Note for future park-visiting tea drinkers
.
Here's a little parking structure tip I picked up as I left at around 3:30. Up until that time, guests are directed to exit via M&Fs. However, after ≈ 3:30, guests are directed to exit via the Pixar structure. Why does this matter? Because when you exit via M&Fs, the exit ramp feeds smoothly onto the 5. With Pixar, you have to drive farther (slightly) and do battle with a few lights. I asked the CM traffic controller if I could opt for M&Fs. She wasn't sure if that exit would still be open but I took the risk and it paid off. So -- you're all now on notice ;-).
