My DW and I are long time Disney Fanatics but this year
we have something else to make Disney special. We'll
be taking our 1 yrs old daughter to Disney for the first
time. We are planning on MK and Epcot but are unsure
about whether we should do MGM or AK. Which one
would you suggest and what are some of the attractions
we should look for?

:yay: Only 2 months to go!!! :cool1:

First of all there isn't much a 1 yo is going to remember on this trip. Took both my kids at 6mo and 18mo remembered nothing. However let's remember it's a trip for you to see child's facial reactions and interests on this journey.

AK - Definitely see Lion King - the music might be loud, but the colors and sights are amazing for any age. Also I think the Finding Nemo Muscial is entertaining for any age. Bring her through the jungle trek or up to RAfiki's planet watch to pet the animals (remember to bring purell). There's the character greeting at Camp minnie-mickey. I'd stay out of the Boneyard because the little rocks could cause choking. There are some great slides, but you have to climb up to get at some of them.

Studios - I think everyone loves the music of Beauty and the Beast, Playhouse Disney is great because you're on the floor watching the characters come out on a stage so it's almost like they are watching it from the livingroom floor. Voyagge of the Little Mermaid is fun for any age. Be sure to go up Mickey Avenue to see the Little Einsteins and other Playhouse Disney friends. There's a great play area at Honey I shrunk the kids that has a little tikes area to the left with a small leaf slide.

MK has some great play areas that some of the other parks don't have. Make sure you spy out all of the Baby Stations at each of the parks...great place to change a child safely. Also there are rocking chairs if you are nursing or want to take a timeout with a bottle for a nap - or the child wants to nap too.

Have fun with her!! Definitely take a dip in the Pool - that's a fun adventure for any child!!

How fun, congrats! We took our twins to WDW when they were 7 months old, 13 months old, and 18 months old. As above poster said, the baby will not remember but we as parents will remember it all and those memories are extremely precious. As far as your question on either MGM or AK....our babies seemed in awe at AK. Animals made their eyes get very wide and they would point and giggle. We did the safari but wearing front carriers like a baby bjorn. We didn't find a lot to do at MGM at that age, but I will say half the enjoyment of those trips was just being able to slowly walk around each park and take in all the little things that we never took the time to notice in the past. Even things such as landscaping and decorations. Any type of flower or duck walking around and the babies were drawn right to them. If your baby is starting to walk by then, something we really enjoyed was walking through the International Gateway in Epcot and letting the babies walk around the boardwalk loop. It was quiet, beautiful, and peaceful. They would walk off a lot of energy and then fall asleep in the stroller, so DH and I would enjoy a snack on the boardwalk while the babies slept. Awesome memories. If you haven't stayed at an Epcot resort yet, it may be worth at least walking over to see them. Babies at that age just want to be with you and look around, so it's really a great area to stay. You can walk back and forth to Epcot and MGM and that is great with a baby and stroller.

Have fun fun fun!
