I'm getting married at Shades of Green in May and thinking about adding on a photo shoot in one of the parks (epcot or hollywood). It's $750 for the shoot. Are they worth it? We could do a resort shoot for $450 with Disney or for who knows what through another photographer. The budget is tight but I want the pictures to show it's a Disney wedding, not just at some random place.

Are you allowed to wear your wedding dress if you are a SOG bride? I am guessing you are because it is a Disney resort. I think you should totally do it! It will be a once in a lifetime experience. The photos would be pretty awesome. Is there a park you two prefer? I think Epcot would be cool for pis, but AK is my fav. Which park are you thinking of doing? If you are simply looking for something that makes your wedding look "Disney" than the polyneisian beach would be a cool place for photos with the castle in the background.

One thing to be aware of is that you do not get the digital versions of your photos for the base price. The $750 includes a 4x6-inch print of each image and a "proof res" disc of images that are not high enough resolution to print. Most outside photographers do include digital versions in their packages or sell them for far less than Disney's prices ($1,000 - $1,200 for a disc), so if you were OK with doing a resort shoot with one of them, you'd save a bundle.

I called today and they seemed fine with it being a SOG wedding and not one of their packages. I thought it would be an issue too.

Anyone have a rough price for outside photographers? I've seen a lot of names but no prices. I've emailed a few already but no one has responded yet.

Hi sweetie!!
Whether the photoshoots are worth it is a matter of opinion. There are many brides on here who would tell you that they are, and they are thrilled with their photos. Unfortunately, there is probably an equal number will say that it is not worth the money and they were less than happy with the results.
At lot seems to depend on which DPS photographer you are assigned, and you cannot choose (you can request a particular photographer, but there are certainly no guarantees!!). You have to use DPS for all in-park shoots as outside photographers are not allowed inside the theme parks.

It's SO hard to decide! That would be terrible if you pay all that and then the pictures are only so-so.

I am trying to get in touch with chapman photography for a price list, but no response so far. I've seen some really cute ideas around the resorts....but I don't want to regret not having pics in the park. AH!

Can you tell I'm indecisive. lol

Joanne summed it up well.

I hate to say it... I'm in the 'less happy' camp.

The idea of photos infront of the castle seemed like an amazing idea and don't get me wrong. I still think that.

I do believe it comes down to the photographer. There are some truly amazing and fantastic shots out there. I just felt disapointed with our photos - I blame myself for getting carried away after looking at the amazing shots that are around. I'll go into more on my TR when the time comes....

It truly is a shame that people like the Roots or Randy cannot do park shoots. Just imagine what results you would get :lovestruc

I will say it was wonderful to see MK get set up in the morning and it was nice to have experienced it.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do! x
