I just spent some time checking out ebay, which I haven't done for
quite a while. Found a listing for Disney passes at a fairly reasonable
rate, so I inquired with the seller. He calls himself Omar and says his
family runs a travel agency, Maple Leaf Visitors Center, in Kissimmee. He
sounds friendly and nice and his prices undercut my Disney Club discount
by about $5 each, including tax and priority shipping. The only problem is,
I can't get any other info on him on the internet; the business name
doesn't seem to be listed anywhere that I can find!

Has anybody else ever heard of/dealt with Omar? Is this a good deal,
or should I turn around and run?

For a $5 each difference, I would go with someone I trusted. It's not like it's a GREAT deal, and potentially saving, what? $20 on 4 passes? $30 on 6 passes? hardly seems worth it to me if you're not sure what you're getting. I've ready too many stories about scams and people selling passes that are more used up than they let on, and there is no way to tell until you reach the gates that you've been had. I have no personal experience with this company so I'm not saying anything bad about them, just that it wouldn't be worth it to me to be worried about being turned away at the gate over a $5 savings. If you buy it from the disney store and it's incorrectly coded, you have a receipt and they can fix it at the gates.

I just wouldn't risk it, especially for $5 per ticket.

I have always been suspicious of these non-Disney ticket sellers. Something about getting to the gate and having them NOT WORK in the turnstyles or turn out to be fake - and then being out all of that money.

Thanks for the advice. I've been kind of thinking that way too.
But I thought I'd run it past you guys just in case I got some
really good feedback on Omar. So far that doesn't seem to be
the case, though.
But I agree, $5 just isn't a lot of
money in the grand scheme of things, and it's probably not
worth the risk. I do appreciate hearing from all of you!
Thanks!
