On our last trip to disney we were not DVC members and I scheduled everything directly thru disney including the "unlimited magic" park passes and we got a flex feature for each person in our family.

Now we are DVC members and planning our next trip. I am still deciding about between annual passes and unlimited Park Hopper tickets since we will be going in the parks for 8 days. Now for some questions:

1. If I get unlimited park hopper tickets do I buy them when I get to my DVC resort or order them before my trip?

2. If I get unlimited park hopper tickets with my DVC discout do I get those flex features like they used to have with length of stay passes when I wasn't a DVC member?

3. If I get annual passes do I just go and buy them at the park enterance?

Our next trip is our first as DVC members and we will be staying at BWV. I like to plan ahead and take care of as much as possible ahead of time before we leave so when we get to disney we can just have fun and not worry! Any advice on ticket purchases would be great! Thanks so much!

1. You shouldn't have to pre-order, you can do it upon check-in

2. Last time we went, it was the same as non-DVC, all benefits and such

3. Don't know for sure

As a DVC member you get 10% of the UMP so buy them at check-in. There is no DVC discount for AP's but you can get a discount if you also join the Disney Club. Think about how many trips you will be making in the next 12 months to help decide which to purchase.

The AP's are purchased at the park entrance.

You could also consider whether the new DVC only pass that is good for 4 of the next 5 years makes any sense for your family.

Yes, you will need to purchase the Annual Passes at one of the park entrances. If you are staying at the Boardwalk, then the entrance to Epcot via the International Gateway is a great place to purchase ticket media (no lines).

If you have any plans of possibly returning to WDW within 12 months, then the Annual Pass is the obvious choice. Cheers.

The UMP, which are not part of a package, will allow entry to all parks, water parks, PI and DQ. They do not have flex features (those were part of the Disney package.)
If you will be going to the parks exactly 8 days during the next 12 months, you may find that the UMP (with 10% DVC discount) is a better deal than an AP- since it includes PI, water parks and DQ. If you will be able to make another trip ot two within the year- then the AP will most likely come out way ahead.

There is a page of ticket prices here at DIS which can help you figure out the best deal for yourself. Don't forget to figure the 10% discount on the UMP when comparing.

The flex feature you got previously was part of your room package, not part of the unlimited magic pass. If you get an unlimited magic pass through DVC, it is not a room package, so there is no flex feature.
