Park opening times...

Is there a list of what times the parks "really" open?
Last year we arrived at both AK and DHS about 15-20 before the listed park opening at 9AM... but they were already open. It was not just that they had moved guest to the bridge at AK or to Sunset at DHS, or a schedule EMH morning... they were open (we did have to wait about 10 mins on RnRC to open it's doors).

So is there any type of schedule of when they do this, or is it just based on crowd levels or something else?

No, there isn't. MK tends to open 15-20 minutes early. The others aren't as consistent. On our last trip none of the other 3 parks opened before the published time.

Probably not predictable. Last month we were at WDW for 10 days and entered every park early, every day. A few times we were getting on our first ride before 9 AM. We just get there 15 - 20 mins early and hope for the best.

Being there 20 minutes before park opening just isn't adequate if you want to be at the front of the rope drop pack. Get there an hour (or more) early if you really want a jump on things.

Go with the assumption that they will start letting folks scan through the turnstiles about 15, 20 min early. They will hold those folks in internal areas until official opening but chances are good you will scan in before then. How early depends on how crowded the turnstile area gets.
