Does anyone think it will be likely that they will extend MK hours for July? MK is currently open until 11 but to me it would seem to make more sense to give people more hours in less heat and its also summer and who wouldn't want to stay a little later.
Or is it not likely with the DAH parties?
You don’t tend to see as many late night summer hours at MK these days like you did a few years ago. If you look at last July, MK closed:
10:00 PM - 25 nights
11:00 PM - 5 nights (2 of which were around 7/4)
1:00 AM - 1 night (7/4)
If you look at currently available hours for July 2018 (which are highly subject to change), you see:
10:00 PM - 29 nights
12:00 AM - 2 nights (7/3 and 7/4)
As you mentioned, a new addition this year is the DAH nights that will occur 5 times during July (7/7, 7/9, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28) with published times of 10:00PM - 1:00AM. You will
not see park hours change on those particular dates.
Granted past performance is never indicative of future results when Disney scheduling is concerned, but I expect that you’ll see hours added for the dates around 7/4 week and perhaps a few other nights the balance of the month. But I wouldn’t expect a flood of 10PM+ closings to be added, unless crowd levels end up higher this summer and Disney feels more inclined to add park hours overall. As someone traveling in July, I hope I’m wrong because I’d like a bit more late night MK time too.
Disney has been updating park hours much closer to the month in question these days (and sometimes even closer than that), so keep checking for sure.
